To take the piece of their Octo ber meeting, the Busy Bee 4-H Club in Pink Hill, and their lead ers attended the Lenoir County Fair Tuesday afternoon. Going along with the group were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ward and Mrs. J. Hood. Mr. and Mrs. Leighton Turner visited Mrs. Christine Williams, a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital, hi Goldsboro Sunday afternoon. Attending a district P. T. A. meeting at Southwood School re cently. from Pink Hill, were Rev. J. L. Hood. Rev. John Wil kerson, and Mesdames Manly Hatch. Jepsey Pickett, W. E. Brewer, Carl Ward and L. H. of Kinston spent Sunday with Turner. Mr. and Mrs. Flyod Heath, Jr., Mr. Heath's parents Pink Hill, Rt. 2. Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Spell, teaching in the Beverly Manor School, in Staunton, Va? were overnight guests Friday, of Msr. Spell's parents. Mr. and Mrs. G. Smith. They were at Fayetteville In visit Mr. and Mrs during the remainder of the Lacy Council, mother and - father at Mr., Spell Mrs. J. A. Worley visited hi Fountain. Sunday. Miss Lucye Turner was an overnight guest In Kins ton Fri day and attended a birthday party given for Miss Hynda Brody on her 17th birthday, and the football game. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Spence, Jr., and Mrs. Ermle Spence spent the weekend In Charlotte with the Spence's daughter. Mrs. FVederick Rhodes, Mr. Rhodes and sons. Mr. Spence and Mr. Rhodes attended the races, Sun day. Mr. Lylton Maxwell of Winston Salem spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Maxwell Mr. and Mrs. Etbro Hill and sons attended Homecoming at Pleasant Union Christian Church at Newton Grove, Sunday. They also visited Dr. Ed Ulrich and family ia Goldsboro. Dr. Ulrich is a Baptist minister. Mr and Mrs Richard Thornton and children, Ricky and Lynn of Kinston were dinner guests on Frdiay, of the Ethro HOI family. Douglas Noble. 16 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kormit Noble, of Noble's Mill, who was acciden tly injured in a hunting accident at his home two weeks ago, re turned to his home from Puke Hospital. His condition is improved. Li. and Mrs. James R. Patton and son. James Edward left Thursday. Mrs. Patton and Son of the Air Forces went directly to go to West Virginia to visit the Patton family, and Lt. Patton to Ohio where they will be sta tioned. after spending some time with Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Harper, Albertson, Rt. 1. Mrs. Patton is the former Miss Pat Harper. Supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Oave Grady on Wednesday night of last week were Miss Peggy Grady of Wilson, Mr. J. B. Ellis of Saratoga, Rev. and Mrs. Neil Bain of Beulaville and Rev. and Mrs. John A. Wilkeraon and son of Pink Hill. Rev. Bain was guest speaker at a series of revival services at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church during the week. Mr. Ralph Grady of Seven Springs visited the John Dave Gradys recently. Bullock, of Kinstoo and Mrs. Jack Perkina. a member of the Pink Hill Sch ool faculty They chartered a Queen City Bua. from Fayette vllle Arriving in Williamsburg at 11:00 noon, they had lunch, and began a weekend of sight seeing. Places of interest visited Included the Governor's Man sion, the Capitol, the Pillage (jail) where they were looked in (for fun) and attended a number of picture shows. Yorktown and Jamestown were also on the itinerary. Although Williamsburg was pocked with students, attending the homecoming football game, at William and Mary Collegs the Pink HOI group had no trouble finding living quarters while there, because they had made reservations three weeks in ad vance. They were booked at the York Hotel At 7:45 P. M. Sunday, the group arrived home, tired, but extremely happy over the exper ience. October 7th. At 2:M p. m. Mr. John Worthingtoir of the school faculty gave a pro gram on Trees. Mrs. Turner is president of the club. Members present were Mesda mes W. E. Brewer, L. H. Turner T. A.
