WEST The Magnolia Home Demon si ration club held its regular meeting on Thursday morning October 10 at 9:30 at the home of Mrs. Albert West. The president, Mrs. L. E. Pope presided over the meeting. The meeting opened by sing ing "America" after which de votional was led by Mrs. J. W. Evans. Mrs. Charlie Thomas, cloth ing leader gave a helpful talk on hemming garments. Mrs. Paul Bass, house furnishing lea der gave a very interesting re port on better bedding for bet ter sleep. During the business meeting the forth coming bazaar was dis cussed. Also discussed was a nother joint meeting to be held in the near future with the East rim Duplin dub. The meeting closed by repent ing the club collect. ELKS ENTERTAINS CLUB The Autumn motif was used attractively in the Rufus ELks home on las t Tuesday evening when Mrs. Elks entertained her bridge club. A beautiful arr angement of orange Marigold and princess feathers graced the table in the living room. A lighted pumpkin surrounded by orange berries lent a color note of beauty in the dining room. 'Autumn tallies seated the eight guest at two tables... Those playing were Mrs Phil Kretsch, Mrs. Eloise Ryder and Mrs. Martha Sit terson as guest. Members playing were Mrs. George Penney, Mrs. Lucille Stokes, B. Wallace and Mrs. C. B. Guthrie. After several progressions the hostess served orange ice box cake, coffee and salted nuts When scores were compiled, Mrs. Guthrie was given cards for club high.
