Mrs. Parnell has Joined her husband there where he is in service. THey were accompan ied by Mr. and Mrs. Tyson Bostic. While there they fis hed in the Gulf Stream. Mr. and Mrs. Parham Jones of Washington State, are visit ing his brother Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Jones. Shannon Brown has return ed from Conway. S.C. and ac cepted a position with Duplin General Hospital. . Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Taylor have returned from a visit in Tennessee. Mr. Pot Craft. Billy. Susan and Mrs. Margaret Dall atten ded the Fair in Raleigh, Wed nesday. Mrs. Eloise Ryder attended the Homecoming Service in La Grange Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dunn and family and Mrs. B.B. William son attended the family reunion of the late Joel Whaley in Wal lace on Sunday. Approximately sixty people attended the affair in trie American Legion Build ing. Miss Brenda Grady of Kin ston spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grady. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Dob son spent Sunday in Warsaw. Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Kornegay and son Jimmy and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Powell and children spent the weekend in the mountains. Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Brown and daughters attended the Fair in Raleigh Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Brin son spent last weekend at Myr tle Beach. Mrs. Joyce Payne has ac cepted a position ui Farmville, Virginia. Rev. and Mrs. J. P. Pegg left Friday for a vacation in Gib son and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Kretsch made a business trip to White ville, Thursday. Mrs. Andrew Patterson went to Washington D.C. last Tues day to accompany her daugh ter, Mrs. Robert Ingram and sons back to Kenans vllle for a visit. Mrs. C.R. Dall visited her sister, Mrs. Lee Howards in Kinston an Saturday. Mrs. Nattle S. Kornegay of Goldsboro is spending this week here with her daughter, Mrs. Norwood Boney. Mrs. Ruth Splcer of Golds boro spent several days here last week with the BUI Spicers. Mrs. L. Souther land also Mrs. Norwood Boney and her mother. Mrs. Manic S. Kor negay accompanied Mrs. A.T. Outlaw and Miss Annie Cath erine Rhodes to Wallace on - Sunday P.M. They stopped en route to see Mrs. Hubert - Boney at Teachey. TOWN AND COUNTRY CLUB Miss Mary Lee Sykes was hostess to the Town and Coun try Bridge Club at her home on Friday evening. Late fall flowers were used in the liv ing room where two tables were in play. Visitors playing were; Mrs. Louise Boney and Mrs. Martha Sitterson. Members playing were; Mrs. E.C. Tyndall, Mrs. E.S. McGowan. Mrs. Hazel - Scott, Mrs. Eloise Ryder, Mrs. Bill Spicer and Mrs. J.J. - Wells. When scores were compiled, Mrs. Scott was given bath to wels for club high, Mrs. Sit terson a similar gift for visi tors with Mrs. Wells recei ving a towel for consolation. ELLA COOPER CIRCLE Mrs. Bobby Heath was host ess to the Ella Cooper Circle on Monday evening. Mrs. Frances Oakley, chairman, presided over the business session, following the opening prayer. An Informal discus sion on Missionary Nurses was led by Mms. Oakley. Lemon tarts, coffee and nuts were enjoyed by the members present. Judy Smith Presides At FHA Rally On October 11. the East Dup lin Chapter of Future Home makers of America left their school on the Chinquapin Acti vity Bus for a full day at the District If Rally, held in the New Bern High School Audi torium. , The Rally began with the in troducing of guest. Mr. Blair, principal of Farm Life High School, spoke on "The Impor tance of Home Life." The Rally was presided over by it's president Judy Smith, who is an East Duplin Student. At 12:00, students ate picnic lunches, drinks were sold on the grounds. Instructors and ate in the schoo cafeteria. After lunch the New Bern High School Band played sev eral songs.
