? * tm f] 4 H'ers To Raise Funds The 4-H Clubs of Duplln County will appreciate dona tions from friends of 4-H'ers Monday. November 11th, dur ing the Annual Veteran's Day Celebration in Warsaw. The friends will go for 4-H Development such as camps, recognition, scholar ship and in ternational farm youth ex change. The fund raising effort has been endorsed by the War SAW TftVCttS. Member s of the 4-H Clubs of Duplin County will be on I abaES1 displayed on their clothing. Each donor will be presented a clover leaf tag with "Friends of 4-H'ers" written across die leaf. Your cooperation will be appreciated. OFFICERS FOR 4-H COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTED. Officers for the Duplin 4-H Club Council were elected Mon day night at a meeting In the Agricultural Building at Ken ans vllle. The following officers for 1964 were elected: Mary Alice Thomas, president; Stella Wells, vice pres.; Kathryn Cos ton, secretary; Anna Lee. trea surer; Linda Smth. song leader and Ray Roberts. Jr. and An thony Westbrook, recreation. ???? e Mrs. Smith To Attend UN Tour Nations Study tour. Mrs. Smitn left Raleigh, Mon day by chartered bus along with approximately 100 club women from across the state. Two days will be spent studying and touring the United Nations; one day at Hyde Park at the Frank lin Delano Roosevelt home. Li brary and museum; one night at the National 4-H Club Foun dation, Washington, D.C., and a specially conducted tour of the white House on Saturday morning; then returning on? Saturday. Mrs. Smith has been active in home demonstration work for 26 years. she has served as president two years, secretary two years, and vice-president two years. She has also ser ved as Education and Citizen ship chairman. Mrs. jerry O. Smith of B.F. Grady Home Demonstration Club is representing, Duplin - County at the Annual United Bland Family Reunion Planned The annuel fall reunion of the Bland family is planned for Saturday, November 30, in the community building at Har rells, according to an announce ment released by the clan presi dent, Earl Bland of Jackson ville, Ga. A cordial invitation to attend this family gathering Is extended to all members <7 the various branches o( the - Bland family and their friends residing in this area, Mr. Bland said. Families residing in Dup lin, Sampson and Pender Coun ties will be host on this occa sion and the ladles of those counties will entertain at a picnic lunch at 12:30 p.m. - Therefore, it is requested that each family attending from that area brine a picnic basket. These reunions, taking place each year on the Saturday fol lowing Thanksgiving, are very popular among members of the family and their friends In ?
