Tafe HUNTERS ENTERTAIN WIVE# On Thursday night, January 18, a group of hunters enter tained their wives at a delici ous grilled steak supper, with all the trimmings at their hun ting camp in Pender County. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Bob Patterson, of Holly Ridge; Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Bishop of Magnolia; Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Rouse, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Rouse, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Usher, Mr. and Mirs. G. R. Brice and Mr. and Blrs. H. W. Farrior all of Rose Hill. TEACHEY HONORED On Friday evening, January 17, Mrs. Charles Teachey III was honored with a stork sho wer at the home of Mrs. S. O. Johnson with Mrs. Leon Sikes, Mrs. E. G. Murray Jr., Mrs. Holmes Murphy and Mrs. Hor ace Fusseil, Co-Hostesses. The home was attractively decorated for the occasion. In , the living room a nursury - Rhymn tree was the center piece and gifts surrounded the tree. The guests were invited into the dining room where toasted nuts, party cakes and punch were served. The dining room table was covered with a pink linen table cloth and a stork carrying twins was the center piece. About 35 guests attended. Jack Berfcman, noted Wilmington Artist, is shown giving a lecture - demonstration in Margaret Cooper's Ait Studio. At the moment shown in this picture Mr. Berkman is making a five minute painting in a "dry brush" technique, using black water color, iiew^alut paper and an old wont house paint brush. Just behind the speaker is one of Ma portraits in oiL On the high shelf are paintings now in process by Margaret Cooper's otinjaats The Artist commented later that this was the most interested, receptive audience of tMa kind be has ever had. Mir. Berfcman spoke to the Wallace-Rose ml High School P. T. A. also. He was re ceived with so much interest and enthusiasm he has been invited to return to give a lec ture demonstration to the Wallace-Rose HH1 High School students. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blanchard Blanchards Observe Silver Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blanch ard of Rose Hill entertained at a reception in honor of their silver wedding anniversary on Sunday afternoon, January 12, from 3:00 to 5:00 p. m. at their home on Charity Road. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Blanch ard received the guests as they arrived. Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blanchard were their son, Wyatt, their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Register, and IN CHARLOTTESVILLE Miss Faye Ezzell has re turned to Charlottesville. Va. after spending the Christmas and New Year Holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Ezzell, Sr. She is staying In Charlottes ville with her sister and bro ther-in law. Mr. and Mrs. Ri chard Golec, and attending the Jefferson Professional insti tute. The Golecs and their two a little daughters, Joan and Jean were Christmas guests of the Ezzells. They returned home the day after Christmas. Mrs. Golec is the former Bobby Jean Ezzell. granddaughter, Cathy Regis ter. Mrs. Joe Bass invited the guests into the dining room where the four tiered wedding cake was served by Mrs. John Cooper, Jr., at the apposite end of the table fruit punch was served from a silver punch bowl by Mrs. David Rouse. Salted nuts and party mints were also served. Others assisting in the din ing room were Misses Patricia Eason, Patricia Rouse and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eason. The dining room table was centered with a silver candela bra surrounded by an arrange ment of white roses, pompons, snapdragons and greenery. The green and white motif was used throughout the house. Mrs. Robert Frederick di rected the guests into the den where coffee and tea were ser ved by Mrs. W H. Hall. Mrs. Loney Lanier and Mrs. Em mett Parker, cousins of Mrs. Blanc hard, presided at the reg ister. Goodbyes were said to Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Blanc hard.
