a Jaycee project.
DANCE A SUCCESS
The March of Dimes dance
held at the American Legion
Hut at Maxwell's Mill Jan. 18,
was a success, according to the
chairman for the Albert son
area. The chairman Is Mrs.
Jimmy Johnson. Approximately
$56 was cleared above expen
ses. The music was furnished
by the Rick Rickles band from
Goldsboro and Dwight Nether
cutt who played the drum and
Kenneth Tyndall either the pia
no or violin.
Another dance for the same
cause Is planned for Saturday
night. Feb. 1, at the samb
place, same hour . 8:00 p.m
and the music will be the same.
Mrs. Johnson asks that every
one keep the date In mind, and
make their plans to attend.

During the business session
members were urged to get
their health record Books ready
to be turned In April 6th. Com
ing events in the county coun
cil were discussed.
A general question and ans
wer period was had on "Saf
ety Hazards" with all mem
bers participating. This was
very Informative.
After the meeting, recreation
was enjoyed with Emily Marsh
burn and Patsy Dili In charge.

Smith's 4-H club met Satur
day night at 7:00 p.m. January

The meeting was opened with
the Pledge of Allegiance end the
4-H pledge. Judy Smith and

songs and gave the Devotion.

of events for the year. The
programs were planned for the
year.

of Pink Hill was solemnized in
an impressive private cere
mony at the home of the bride's
parents on Friday, January 17,
at three o'clock in the after
noon.
The bride's pastor, the Re
verend W.E. Howard of Mount
Olive, officiated at the double
ring cermeony.

baskets or gladioli, pompoms,
and lilies against a background
of palmetta palms and Emerald
fern.
The bride was attired In an
antique white street length
sheath dress, sculptured with a
rounded neckline and wrist
length sleeves. Her nose-tip
veil of imported French illu
sion was attached to a crown of
tnlnature pearls and crystals.
Her flowers, a white orchid
showered with stephanotis and
lilies-of-the valley were clasp
ed to a white satin covered
prayer book with candle light
satin streamers.
Mrs. Stroud is a 1962 gra
duate of B.F. Grady High School
and attended Mount olive Junior
College and East Carolina Col
lege. Mr. Stroud is a 1958
graduate from Pink Hill High
School and attended Mount olive
Junior College and Pembroke
State College.
The couple will be at home
on R.F.D. Pink Hill following
a wedding trip to Florida.
