Huckabee, Joey Simpson, Randy Williams. - BEULAVILLE MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT JACKSONVILLE - A 32 year old Beulavtlle motorist was fa tally injured Sunday after his \ car ran off a rural road about ;a four miles south of here. Two passengers in the car received minor injuries. Dead on arrival at Onslow Memorial Hospital, said High way Patrolman D. M. Stephens, was Benjamin J. Judge of Beu lavtlle Route 1. Stephens said Judge's car, J traveling at an excessive rate 0 fspeed, bowled over three mail boxes and crashed head on into a tree after it failed '' to negotiate a turn on rural road 1113 about 10:30 p. m. Stephens said the crash im pact caused Judge's body to " bend the steering wheel. The I windshield, he said, was also ^ shattered by the heads of the two passengers, who were rid * ing in the front seat. Released after treatment for head injuries and lacerations was William H. James, 51, of Jacksonville Route 3, and Thel ma Watkins, 33, of Jacksonville Route 4. She also lost a tooth in the accident, Stephens said. The officer said the car was totally demolished. Thomas and Mrs. Dorothy Gambrel made a business trip to Pink Hill Mon day. Mrs. Vallie Oxley and dau ghter, Leslie Susan, of Trian gle, Virginia spent the week end with Mrs. Susan Turner. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald H. Cot tle of Richmond, Va. are spending a weeks vacation with their parents Mrs. Zannie Mae Cottle and Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Dunn of Albertson. MEETINGS NEXT WEEK The Beulaville Jaycees will meet Thursday night May 14 at the recreation building. The Beulaville Firemen meet Tuesday night May 12 at 7:30 p. m. at the Fire Station. The Woodmen of The World Camp No. 935 meet Monday night May 4 at the Masonic Lodge Hall. The Beulaville Presbyterian Women of the Church hold their regular meeting Tuesday night May 12. JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET Tht annual Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom' for stud ents of East Duplin High Sch ool was held Friday night Mai 1, a t7:30 p. m. in the school cafeteria. The Junior Class president, Harold Lanier, gave the wel coming address and Lonnie Thigpen, Senior Class presi dent, the response. Junior class sponsors were: Mrs. Sallie Jo Houston, Ervin Dobson, Mrs. Edna Ward, Miss Grace Kennedy, Billy Bostic, Mrs. Lois Phillips and Mrs. Janet Register. Senior class sponsors were: Edgar Wells. Wilbur Williams, Mrs. Anna B. Guy and Mrs. Mary Mercer . The Collegians furnished the music for the prom. LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL Four teams will participate in the recently organised East Duplin Little League, with a 16 game schedule planned. Games will be palyed two nights each week, starting in June and continuing through August, on the Beulaville Ele mentary baseball diamond. The four teams are sponsored by the Beulaville Junior Cham ber of Commerce, The Beu laville Presbyterian Church, the Beulaville Baptist Church and the Town of Chinquapin. The sponsors provide all equip ment, except shoes and gloves for the individual players. Through affiliation with the Little Tar Heel League, Inc., the players are provided with insurance in case of accidental injury. EDH BACCALAUREATE SERMON Dr. Frank B. Hall, paator of Pearsall Memorial Presbyter ian Church of Wilmington, will deliver the baccalaureate mes sage to the 1964 graduating class of East Duplin High School Sunday, May 10, at the Beulaville Elementary School at 2:30 p. m. The senior clou for this year has 133 members. Commence ment exercises' will be held the following Sunday. May 17, at East Duplin High School. Returns To Ohio Bowman Doss, the newly ele cted President of Nationwide Insurance Company and the Executive Board consisting of George Dunlap, Executive Di rector of the Nationwide Cor poration; James H. West, Chairman of the Board of Peo ples Broadcasting Company, Max C. Scarff, Chairman of the Board of Approved Finance Co. and Harry T. Metzler, Board Member, flew to North Carolina to visit with Paul D. Grady, Sr. Chairman of the board of Nationwide who has recently been quite ill. The group were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grady at their home in Kenly for dinner on Monday Night and then went to their Regional Office in Cameron Village, Raleigh, N. C. where they held their regular monthly meeting of the Board. Chairman Grady will return to his duties in Columbus,. Ohio, this week where he has recently been re-elected for another term as Chairman of the Board. Hks Margaret Agnes Lanier is the daughter of Mr .and Mrs. York Lanier of Beulaville, N. C., who announce her engage ment to Willie Gray Boatic, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Tyson Bostk of Kenansvflle, N. C. A June 14 wedding is planned. Outlaw's Bridge News Pland for the Mother's Day and Homecoming program for Sunday, May 10 are being com pleted. A special invitation is extended to all for the service. Apicnic lunch will be served at the noon hour. Mrs. William Sutton, judy, Linda and Rodney visited Mrs. Sutton's mother, Mrs. Creech at Pine Level Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. VanceSpenceof Kinston were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Outlaw Sat. Mrs. Joseph Johnston is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs. Hill near Pink Hill. Mrs. Henry Parker, Joseph Parker, Mrs. Lottie Berger Miss Rachel outlaw and Lewis W. OJtlaw were guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Nichols and Nicky In Wilson. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Outlaw of Garland visited relatives Friday night and Saturday. Mrs. Lottie Berger ana Miss Rachel Outlaw were hostesses to the A. U. W. at their home Saturday, May 2. Mrs. R A. Outlaw called the meeting to or der at 3 p. m. Mrs. Berger led the devotions. A business meeting was held with Mrs. Wil liam Sutton. Secretary. Mrs. M. L.
