Grady and Mar garet attended a newspaper meeting in Ahoskie during the week end. They also visited in Norfolk and Rich Square. On returning home Sunday they were accompanied by Mrs. Pridgen mother of Mrs. Grady, who will be in Kenansville for a long visit. W. S. OF C. C. The W. S. of C. S. of the Methodist Church met on Mon day evening in the Educational Building. Miss Lottie Williams, president, presided over the opening session. Mrs. Tommy Qdinn, program chairman, ptw sided over the pledge service with all present participating. CORA STOKE8 CIRCLE The Cora Stokes circle met on Monday afternoon with Mrs. Lucille Stokes as hostess. Up on the arrival of members, the hostess served iced drinks, as sorted crackers and cookies. Following the , social hour Mrs. George Penney, circle chairman, presided over the business session. For Liberty and Light was the program presented by Mrs. Penney who illustrated her talk with The Liberty Bell and lighted tree as a symbol of Liberty and light. Mrs. Blanton served "hbotee" decorated party squares, sandwiches, nuts and mints were served buffett. The hostess presented the honoree with a play pen in which an array of beautifully recorated packages were plac ed. Mrs. Bell opened the gifts and passed them around for view. PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN Circle No. 1 of the (Women of Grove Presbyterian Church met on Monday afternoon, May II, in Magnolia with Mrs. J. N. Tome. The meeting was presided over by the circle chairman, Mrs. Lloyd Ferrell who also moderated the Bible Study on Several of the "Na ture Psalms." She was assisted by Mesdames Ralph Barwick and N. B. Boney. The monthly emphasis was discussed by Mrs. J. A. Gavin who urged all present to attend the next Gen eral meeting at which time the Annual May Birthday Program would be observed. At the close of the meeting the hos tess assisted by her sister. Miss Louise Croom served Japanese Fruit Cake and coffee. Circle No. J met on Monday night at ? o'clock with Mrs. William E. Craft. The chair man. Mrs. Mattie W. Sadler presided over the business ses sion. Mrs. Ralph Brown was moderator of the Bible Study a Continuation of "The Psalms." Mrs. Louise W. Mitchell gave the monthly Emphasis and reminded the group of "Home 31st. ISM. this is the first time that this old Church has held a "Homecoming" since ISM when The Rev. Frank L. Goodman was its pastor and the Church celebrated its BI CENTENNINAL. Mr. Goodman was followed here by the Rev. Joseph Graham Morrison who will deliver the Sermon on this occasion. ACTIVITY BUS "ON THE GO" The various grades of the 1 Kenansville White Elementary i School have enjoyed several I field trips during the past two i week, therefore the activity bus has really been "On the Go." Mrs. George Penney and Mr. Lauren Sharpe took the 6th. and 7th. grades to Raleigh one day to see the place of special interest in the States' Capital. On another trip Mr. Sharpe and Mrs. Nanie Brin son took their 5th and 6th. gra ders to Wilmington to the Port City where they attended Jim Burn's one o'clock show on. WECT Channel 6. Mr. Sharpe also drove the ac tivity bus to the Cliffs on ano ther occasion so that Mrs. Bill Best' 3rd. graders and Mrs. Hazel Scott's 4th. and 5th. com bination grade could enjoy a nature hike and picnic.
