BROWN Mrs. Leona H. Brown, 68, died at her home at Grams bo ro Wednesday afternoon. Fu neral services were held Fri day at 3 p.m. at New Bethle hem Free will Baptist Church at Grantsboro by the Rev. Gra ham Lane. Burial was In the church cemetery. She lived In the Ayden and Grlfton community for thirty years prior to moving to Grant sboro. Surviving are her hus band, H. In a lovely ceremony on Sun day July 3. at 4;30 p.m. In the Potters Hill Advent Chris tian Church, Miss Susan Wray Qulnn became the bride of Ro land Leroy Houston. The bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Qulnn of Potters Hill. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. Houston of Potters Hill. The Reverend Donald Law son officiated at the double ring ceremony. The program of wedding music was presented by Mr. Joseph Q. Thlgpen, or ganist, of Broadway and Mr. Clessy Worley, soloist, of Pot ters Hill. The church was beautifully decorated with a lace cloth co vered alter on which an open Bible lay with a single carna tion - shnwerfri vrirh hrld?1 ribbon. A spiral arch candela bra was placed In the back ground with a tree candelabra on each side. Baskets of white gladiolus, mums, carnations, and white daisies accented by palms were also used. The bride given In marriage by her father wore an empire waistline sown of crepe featur ing and alec on lace bodice with a scalloped neckline. The lace sleeves were tapered to calla points ' and her carriage train was of crepe with a panel of alencon lace. Her veil of French Illusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls and organza. She carried a cascade bouquet of white daisies and white roses centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Kav Quinn Walker, sis ter of the bride, was matron of honor. Her floor length gown was of mint green bonded crepe. Her matching headpiece was a circular crown with a veil of Illusion. She carried a cas cade bouquet of yellow daisies with a yellow bow. Misses Hilda Houston and Sue Houston, sisters of the groom, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns and headpieces Identical to the matron of honor and carried cascade bouquets of whle daisies with yellow bows. The groom had as his best man, Kenneth Ball of Potters HOI. Ronald Quinn, brother of the bride, and Rayburn Houston, brother of the groom, served as ushers. For traveling the bride chose a two-piece blue linen suit on which she wore the orchid lifted from her blrdal bouquet. After a trip to the western part of North Carolina, the couple will reside at Potters hill. CAKE CUTTING Following the Houston-Qulnn rehearsal Saturday night, July 2, the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Qulnn entertained the wedding party and other guests at a cake cutting at tnelr home. The dining table was draped with an ecru lace cloth over green. The centerpiece featured a floral arrangement of car nations, glads and mums with burning candles on each side. The three-tiered wedding cake and punch service graced die ends of the table. After the bridal couple cut the first slice of cake, Mrs. Qulnn, mother of the bride, served cake to the guests. Mrs. Houston, mother of the groom served punch. Mints ana nuts were also served. Approximately party guests enjoyed this lovely occasion.
