I Try Home-made I i. Cookies for I Winter Snacks I Cold winter days are the I best time for making a hit 1 with home-made cookies. J li s tne time wnen tne chil dren come in hungry from a hand day's play, when the girls get in out of the cold for a cozy coffee klatch and when the man of the house is most likely to invade the kitchen for a late night snack. The beauty of cookies is that they're so satisfying yet so easy to make. With the right tools, a batch of cookies can be made with little risk of error and practically 110 clean-up worries. For example, you can now get non-stick aluminum cookie pans that need 110 greasing, eliminate the chance of cook ies sticking and can be cleaned with a simple rinsing. As with the popular non-stick frying pans, aluminum is used because its even-heating qual ities work best, with the dur able plastic coating, reports The Aluminum Association Here is a simple receipe for a cookie that will score with everybody: CHOCOLATE CHIP NI T COOKIES To make about 45 cookies: Cream together 1 cup butter. 1 cup brown sugar, cup white sugar. Beat in 1 egg. > tsp. vanilla. Sift and stir in 1 cup flour, 'g tsp. salt, 'j tsp. soda. Stir in 1 cup chopped nut meats, 'j cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
