In the afternoon they visited Mrs. Doris Hudson near Scott Store and the Roland Sullivans in Oak Ridge Com munity. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Frank Outlaw during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Jar vis Allen Out law of Charlotte. Mrs. Jim Davis is a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hardison of Roanoke Rapids. Mrs. Ro dolph Jones and children, Ken anavllie, Mrs. Alfred Thlgpen and boys of Alum Sprues Church area. Visiting Mrs. Frank Wilkins Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ward and children of Turkey, the Jerry Wardfamlly of Mt. Olive, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Holmes and children of Bethel section, Mr. aid Mrs. Hobart Whaley and family, Kin ston, and the Albert Dailfamily locally. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sutton, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Sutton, spent the Easter weekend in Albany, Ga. with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McKenna and child ren. Mrs. Jonas Dail and Mrs. A. J. Mrs. Belle Jones, Mrs. Ruby Smith, and Mrs. Lee Maxwell went to Fayetteville on Thurs day and had a nice visit with Reverand and Mrs. J. R. Re gan. They are living In their lovely little retirement home on 2702 Arlington Avenue. While there, they also visited briefly with Reverand Norman F arrlor, who , as you know, is a patient In the Veteran's Hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. John Dave Grady and Miss Mary Anna Grady spent the weekend In Tarboro with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ellis. Company with the Gradys last week were Mr. Warren Grady, Mr. and Mrs. David Grady and Mrs. Alvin Bowen from Goldsboro, and Mrs. Margaret Measley from LaGrange. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pem be rt on and Mike Whitley from New Bern were dinner guests of Mrs. Warren Maxwell on Saturday. Jr., Ronda, Apgle7 and Brandoii from High Point visited their parents, the R. D. They served ham biscuits, cheese ritz, cake squares, mints, nuts, and fruit punch. -Deaths Joseph R. Maxwell Joseph R. Maxwell of Calyp so, 95, died Wednesday night, 17 April ISM, at New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilming ton, after a long illness. Fun eral services were conducted at the Presbyterian Church, Calypso at 2:30 P. M., Friday by the Reverend Kenneth Dav is. Burial followed in the Way ne Memorial Park in Gold sboro. Vistation was at the chu rch from 1:30 to 2:15. He was born in New York City, 28 March 1873, the son of Jbhn Maxwell and Catherine MacCrae of Edinburgh, Scot land. He lived in Providence, Rhode Island prior to moving south. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Emmett H. Bellamy and granddaughters Mrs. Leslie N. Boney, Jr. and Mrs. Donald B. Roger Kornegay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kornegay of Route 2, Mount Olive, is shown preparing his calf for the re cent Coastal Plains Livestock $tow and Sale held in Kinston. Roger's calf weighed 916 'pounds and graded choice. He re ceived a blue ribbon. Koonce and four great-grand children all of Wilmington. He was the first mayor of Calypeo and was active in pub lice affairs of the area for a number of years prior to his retirement. He was a long time elder in the Presbyterian Church. He was the oldest member of the Mount Olive Masonic Lodge No. 206 and had been honored as a 60 year member. Mrs. Estelle A. Lanier WALLACE - Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle Albertson Lanier, 48, Rt. 1, Chinquapin, who died Tuesday, were con ducted Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Edgerton Funeral Chapel by the Rev. E. B. Carroll. Burial was in the Bafts Ceme tery on Rt. 1, Chinquapin. She is survived by her hus band, Ardell Lanier: nerfather, Kater Albertson of Chinquapin; and sister, Mrs. Rovene Mobley of Chinquapin; two brothers, John W. and Ervin Albertson both of Chinouapin. ?? m Memorial hospital In Goldsboro Sunday rfternoon. They had a family fish fry on the river side. Becky Page of Smith town Mrs. Estelle Carter of Wallace. N.C. was honored as "Operator of the Month" for the month of March, 1968. Mrs. Carter was pre sented this certificate by her supervisor Mrs. Norma Smith and the plant manager. Mr. Harold Stroud. To receive this award an operator must be present every day and must have the highest production average for the entire month.
