Rthabtth Chapter Macting The regular bi-monthly meeting of the Rehoboth Chap ter *36. Order of die Eastern Star. In Rose HOI. was held in the Lodge Hall with the Worthy Matron. Miss Mary Lou Wtlhens and Worthy Patron. James A. Ward presiding. After the Ritualistic open ing and business session Mrs. Walter Jay Thomas was initi ated into the Order. Guests at the meeting were: Mrs. Eugene Pierce, Worthy Matron; ana Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cash well, all of the Pat McGowan Chanter #138 of Wallace. Punch and cookies were served during the social hour that followed the meeting. The next meeting will be held on June 4 at 7:30 o'clock. Wilson, In Rose Hill, and sponsored by the Woman's So ciety of the Methodist Church. They were called for at their homes with a car and brought to the Wilson home. A short devotional was held and all re peated the Twenty-Third Psalm together and followed it with the Lord's Prayer. They sang a few verses of Old hymns, their favorites, and Mrs. Cora Far rlor sang "Amazing Grace, a solo. After dessert they went out side in the sunshine and had their picture made. Several were good likenesses but the above two were the best, to the first picture above we see, on the front row left to right Mrs. Cora Farrlor, who has a son H. Ward Farrior still liv ing in Rose Hill; Mrs. J. I. Cavenaugh, whom we all called "Aunt Qulncey" whose daugh ter. Mrs. Lillian Alexander li ves with her niece, Mrs. Marie Chest nun, and Mrs. Call le Hen derson (Mrs. Willie Hender son). On the back row are Mrs. Cumte Fuss ell (Mrs. Jess# Fuss ell) who has two daughters, Mrs. L. A. Wilson and Miss Betty F us sell living In Rose Hill now. Mrs. Ida Teacbey (Mrs. Coy Teachey) and Mrs. Ludle Alderman, whose son Carl Alderman md daughter, Mrs. May belle Alder man. live here. Cavenaugh) and Mrs. Cora Dixon (Mrs. William Di xon). Some of these wonderful la dles have children and grand children scattered about the country as well as In Rose Hill. Mrs. Callle Henderson had a stepdaughter, SallleHenderson, who lives In the western part of the state. Mrs. Callle was a Boney. and sister of die late Harvey Boney and others whose descendants are largely living in Duplin. She has a brother, Arthur Boney, in Rocky Mount. Mrs. Cora Farrior nas two sons. John and Marsden. who live away. Aunt Quincey has a daughter, Mrs. Mellie in Rich mom as well as Mrs. Lillian in Rose Hill. She also has numerous grandchildren, great grandchfylren, great-greats and perhaps another generation yet still living in Duplin, Mrs. Ludie Alderman has other children living away also. Mrs. Curoie has a daughter, Edna, who lives in Wilmington as well as the two in Rose Hill. Mrs. Mary Johnson had no children of her own but raised several young relatives and feels they and their children are partly hers. Mrs. IdaTeacheys child ren and grandchildren live, lar gely, in Duplin and around Rich mond, Va. Mrs. Bert a Caven augh's family are all in Rose Hill and Wallace except one grandson and Mrs. Dixons gran dchildren are mainly in Duplin. ? ; So here. then, la a picture of ? beloved group of ladles, who were all nappy ooe after noon when a party was given in their honor. Rose Hill Woman's Club Met The Rose Hill Woman's Club met on Wednesday May 22 at the Rose Hill Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Charles R. Mosback. The devotional was presented by Mrs. Donald B. F. Hoyt. After the dinner was serv ed business was transacted, b was announced that Karen Tea chey won the Music Award for most improved student In piano. Hargrove (right), son of Mrs. Thelma Hargrove, Route 2, Mount Olive, N. C? receives his Uth award of die Air Medal April 22 near Vung Tau, Vietnam. Congratulating mm is Lieutenant Colonel George W. Adams on, commander of the 222nd Combat Support Aviation Battalion In Vietnam. Spec. Hargrove received the award for heroism Involving aerial flight in action against enemy forces in Vietnam, Dec. 20, 1967. Spec. Hargrove Is a maintenance supervisor In die 171st Maintenance Detachment. He entered the Army in 1961, completed basic training at Ft. Jackson, S. C? and was stationed at Ft. { Eustis, Va., nefore arriving in Vietnam In August 1967. He has received the Bronze Star Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. The specialist graduated in 1956 from B. F. Grady High School, Duplin County, N. C. The n-ogram for r-a year was dls-ossed by the Program Chairman, Mrs. Donald B. F. Hoyt. The Committee chair men were announced. Plans were made for serving refresh ments at the dedication of the Rose Hill Post Office on June 2. - Mrs. E. P. Blanchard made a report of the North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs meeting In Plnehurst last week. Mrs. Hoyt read the Historian's report prepared by Mrs. C. F. Hawes.
