Strouds and the Walter Strouds attended the fu neral of Mrs. Inez Stroud Fi sher in Kinston on last Fri day afternoon. The Jimmy Johnsons of Wll lingboro, N J. have been visiti ng his parent Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Johnson also her mother, Mrs. A.T. Outlaw. Mr. and Mrs. Tlmmy Outl law and two sons, of Bristol, Va. have been visiting his mo ther, Mrs. A.T. Outlaw. Mrs . N.B. Boney also Su san Craft and Susan Murphy accompanied Mrs. Margaret O. Dail to Kinston on last Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Vestal visited his sister. Miss Annie Laurie Vestal in Atlanta, Ga. They also visited his Aunt, Mrs. Laura Pritchard in Charlotte, last week, while on vacation. Miss Annie Catherine Rhodes is visiting relatives in Holly wood, Florida. Miss Betsy Delaby has re turned to her home in Fayette ville, after a visit here with her aunt,Mrs. P.W. McGowan. Mrs. Van Jordan and Helen Kennedy of Richmond, Va. has come to live here with her sis ter, Mrs. Elolse K. Ryder. Mrs. Ella Quinn Smith has been visltin g friends in Deep Run. Miss Frances Lee Stroud spent the week end with frie nds in Shelby and was in the wedding of one of her college mates were. Mrs. Larry Warrington and three children of Winston Salem formerly of Kenansvllle spent Monday night here with Mrs. Dixon Hall and Children. Her Mother, Mrs. Jack Pinn of Santa Ana, California was also along with the Warring tons. She spent the night as the guest of Mrs. N.B, Boney. They were enroute to Washing ton, N?C to visit relatives there. Mrs. Carolyn Hall and dau ghter, Irene of Tappahannock, Va. are visiting her son, Dixon Hall and family. rown ft Country Club Mrs. HJ) Taylor was hos tess to the Town and Country Bridge Club on last Tuesday night with Mrs. Martha P. Slt terson as additional guest. Mrs. Wiley T. Booth was high sco rer and Mrs. Elolse K. Ryder won second prize. Mrs. Sit tersod was also presented a gift. For refreshments Mrs. T aylor served pecan pie topped with ice-cream. An arrange ment of mixed summer flo wers was used for decorations. Birthday Dianar The eight children of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rich honored their parents on last Sunday with a picnic dinner on the yard of the Rich's home. The oc casion being their birthdays. The dae for Mr. Rich wasnAu n4th and for Mrs. Rich as August the 8th. There were about 60 people present. In addition to the families th ere were the Rev. and Mrs. K.D. Brown of Burg aw, the Rev. and Mrs. R.M. Brown and ch ildren of Garland, also Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Rich of Mt. Olive and Vaden Lucas of Faison. Birthday Party Mrs. Earl Hatcher enter tainer her youngest son, Dana Ray Hatcher, on August 6,from 3 until 5 o'clock on Ms sixth birthday. She was assisted by her older son, Anthony in en tertaining the guests. After se veral indoor games they went out side for other games. Re freshments served In the din ing room consisted of choco late cake, ice cream and kool aid. F avors given to each one present were Bubble gum, bal loons, party hats and horns.
