WarmwSocietv Bride -Elect And Debutmts Honored Mrs. Bill Sheffield and Miss Allle Sheffield honored Miss Mary Frances Hlnes and Miss Donna Sue Edwards, August br ide-elects, and Miss Diane Sh effield, 1968 debutante, with a luncheon at 12:30 Saturday at the home of Mrs. Bill Shef field on Gum Street The honorees were presen ted corsages of yellow and white carnations upon arrival. Indi vidual tables were thrown with white linen cloths and yellow summer flowers were used as centerpieces. The luncheon menu consisted of shrimp coc ktail, chicken almond, butter beans, pineapple-carrott con gealed salad, hot rolls, iced tea, and lemon pie. Those attending in addition to the honorees were Mrs. Ed Hlnes, Mrs. Oliver Edwards, Miss Carol Ann Tucker of Ma gnolia, and Misses Ann Hines, Janrie Strickland, Mary Sheffi eld, Dorothy Britt, Patsy She ffield, Catherine Buck, Ann Mc Aleese, and Ginger McAleese. Mrs. Boyette Bridge Hostess Mrs. Brooks Boyette was hostess to her bridge club at eight o'clock on Thursday evening at her home on Frisco Street. When Scores were tal lied, Mrs. J.B. Herring, Jr. was Frances Hall, and Mrs. Mary Ann Howard. The program closed with prayer by Mrs. Leon a Dunn. There was a five question Bible quiz after which the gr oup sang, "We'll Work Till Jeses Comes." During the business session minutes were read and the roll called by the secretary, Mrs. Mary Ann Howard. Mrs. Fr ances Hall closed the meeting with prayer. The hostess ser ved refreshments to the fol lowing members, Mrs. Fr ances Hall, Mrs. Mattie Ca venaugh, Mrs. Mary Ann How ard, Mrs. Louise Whaley, Mrs. Ann Quinn, Mrs. Leona Cave naugh, Mrs. Grace Malone and Mrs. Matthew Hobbs. W M S The W.M.S of Magnolia Bap tist Church met Tuesday night at the church. The president, Mrs. L.E. Pope presided. Mrs. Paul Bass led the devotional and the group sang Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah." During the business meeting Mrs. Pope read a note of th anks from the Rogers family. Reports were given by vari ous committees. Program chairman, Mrs. Paul Tucker presented the program "Teaching Unique Sc hoolrooms". There were 11 members pre sent. %/ awarded mixing bowls for high score; Mrs. Larry McCullen was given a pyrex Daking dish for secord high; Mrs. Hubert Merritt was given a juice con tainer for traveling; and Mrs. William Costin received hot pads for consolation. Others playing were Mrs. Harry Snow, Mrs. AJ. Jenkins, Jr., Mrs. J.S. Brinson and Mrs. Durwood Strickland. At the beginning of play, Mrs. Boyette provided relish trays with assorted re lishes for her guests. Later she served potato chips, dip, and Cokes. NQTE OF THANKS We would like to thank each person for the cards, flowers, gifts, visits, prayers, and other acts of kindness shown to us and our mother during her ex tended illness and recent de ath. Mary Best Johnson Celebrates Birthday Miss Mary Best Johnson ce lebrated her 13th birthday with a hamburger cookout and a pa jama party at her home last Tuesday night. Mary Best is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Johnson. Mary Best and her friends enjoyed a sca venger hunt in the afternoon, Afte r the cookout they made a freezer of peach ice cream whlchwas enjoyed by all. Mary Best received several nice gifts. Women's Softball Toam Won Double Header The Warsaw Women's Soft ball team won the double hea der they played last Wednesday evening in Clinton wiht the Pi ggly Wiggly team. The first game ended in a score of 8 to 7 and the second 7 to 2. Mrs. Rouse Was Bridge Hostess Mrs. Clinton Rouse was hos tess to the members of her bridge club at eight o'clock on Tuesday evening in her home near Warsaw. Mrs. Ja mes Sutton was awarded bubble bath for high, and Mrs. Bruce Torrans and Mrs. David Sutton received bridge talbe covers for traveling and consolation.
