Parents of the brldgroum ere Mr. and Mrs. Her lend George Lansing, Sr., of Arlington. VS. Miss 1miming Is the grand dsughter of Mrs. T. A. Jernl gan and the late Robert L.Sum merlin, and the late Mrs. Leonora Smith Goodson and Charles E. Goodson at Mount Ollwe. The church was enhanced by spiral candelabra flanked by emerald greenery and aprlnge rl rreenerv. The choir rail was garlanded with smllax. Pre ceding to the altar were pyra midal candelabra with bouquets of white gladioli and chrysan themums. At the altar was a Prl Dleu decorated with greenery and sa tin bows where the vows were spoken and the bride and bride groom knelt for "The Lord's Prayer" and the benediction. Pews were marked with tall pew holders tied with bridal satin and Improved smllax. A program of wedding music was presented by Page Shaw, organist and Mrs. James W. Lee, soloist. She sang "Be cause, "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer." The bride was given In mar riage by her uncle, Or. Robert L.Summerlln. She wore a gown featuring a fitted bodice, el bow-length bell sleeves, bouf fant skirt and chapel train. Ap pliques of Venice lace high lighted the neckline, the sleeves and midriff of the silk or ganza formal length gown. Her elbow-length veil of silk Illusion was attached to a crown of or ganza petals trimmed with seed pearls and Venice lace. She carried a slender cascade bou quet of baby's breath and phal ae nop sis orchids accented with sprays of English Ivy tied with moss green velvet. Miss Valerie Goodson, sister of the bride, was maid of hon or. She wore a formal length skimmer style dress of tur quoise Sakette dramatized by back panels. Her headpiece was of matching silk Illusion and organza petals and she car ried a white wicker basket over flowing with painted daisies and sweetheart roses tied with loops of narrow apple green velvet bows with long streamers. Mia* Kitm Lannlng, slsterol maids. Their dresses and head places wars fashioned identi cally to that of the honor at tendant and they carried white baskets filled with painted dai sies and narrow green velvet ribbons connected by daisy chains. Miss Grayson Castellow, was flower girl. She wore a formal gown and a veil of silk illusion identical to that of the honor attendant. She carried a white wicker basket decorated with a spray of painted dalMes and rose petals tied with apple green velvet bows. Honorary bridesmaids were Miss Ann Lautares, Miss Margaret Burnetts, Mrs. Wal ter Hlnson, Jr., all of Green ville and Mrs. Danny Cleatonof Wilson. They carried nosegays of daisies tied with pastel rib bons to match their formal gowns. Harland G. Lannlng. Sr., was his son's best man. Ushers were Melvin Hoot, Walter Hln son, Jr., Michael Wheeler, all of Greenville and Robert Wall of Monroe. Mrs. Goodson chose for her daughter's wedding a pink dress of all-over embroidered organ - za with a high set-In satin belt and matching accessories. She wore a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Lannlng, the bride groom's mother, wore a tur quoise crepe sleeveless dress with a lace coat and matching accessories. She wore a white orchid corsage Mrs. Cornelia Jernlgan, ma ternal grandmother of the bride, wore a blue costume and a cor sage of phalaenopsls orchids. Following the ceremony, the couple received In the vestibule of the church. For traveling, the bride chose an emerald green three-piece suit and hat with matching ac cessories. She wore theorchid corsage lifted from her bridal bouquet. The bride Is a graduate ol J. H. Rose High school and at tended East Carolina Univer sity. The bridegroom Is a grad uate of East Carolina Unlver ?slty and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He l? bow employed In Washington,d. C. PRE-RBHEARSAL DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Harland G.Lan nlng, parents at the bridegroom, entertained at a pre-reheeraal dinner for the Lannlng-Good son wedding party and out-of-town guests at the Candlewlck Inn. Guests were received by the bridal couple and the hosts and hostesses. Arrangements of mums and snapdragons and white net rice bags with place cards marked the guests' seating. AFTER-REHEARSAL PARTY Mrs. Charles Goodson, moth er of the bride, entertained the bridal party and out-of-town guests at an after-rehearsal party Saturday night at Me morial Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Good son, aunt and uncle of the bride greeted guests. The appointed table was cov ered with a lace cloth and was centered with a five-branched candelabra with a bouquet of white pompons and yellow snap dragons. The corners of the table were caught with clusters of white wedding bells, yellow tulle and greenery. Mrs. Harland Lannlngpoured punch and Mrs. Charles Good son served cake. Good-byes were said by Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Goodson, aunt and uncle of the bride. SHOWER PARTY Miss Vickie Goodson, bride elect of August 11, was honored at a miscellaneous shower Tuesday. July 30, at the home of Miss Brenda Edwards. Co hostess was Mrs. Grover Ed wards. The appointed table was cov ered with a linen cloth cen tered with an arrangement of white miniature mums and greenery. The honoree was presented a corsage of white mums upon arrival. Special guests were Mrs. Charles E. Goodson, mother of the bride-elect, Mrs. T. A. Jernlgan of Mount Olive, grand mother of the bride-elect,Mrs. P. A.
