Mr. and Mrs. Mack Raynor along with Mr. and Mrs. Jef frey James and children, Pen ny and Renee, and a guest Pam Alberts on attended the State Fair Friday. Mr. Jesse Bell of Faison vis ited his sister, Mrs. Lloyd Jones Saturday. Mrs. Helen Sloan shopped in Goldsboro Wednesday. Bathal Choir Skating Party The youth choir of Bethel Presbyterian Church went sk ating at Golds boro Wednesday night. Those attending were: Pam, Renee, Susie, Ginny, Dennis, Rcbln, Mart . Faye, Craig,Te resa, Carltc . Tammie, Mari lyn, Gokmda, Donna, Bob, Terry, Sandy. Randy, Willy, Sula, Mike, Karen, Tlmmy, Mike, and Rex. Chaperons were: Mrs. Elouise Albert son, Mes. Jane Albertson, and Jua nita Maready. Talent Show Gfeat Success The Ruritans of Cedar Fork sponsored a talent show Thurs The show was bald at the community building which was filled to capacity. Special guest performers were Charlie Albertson an! . band. Other talented participant I were: Just Us Band, Soul Un- 1 ity Band, Girl Scouts. Anell Edwards, Pam Albertson, Gayle Sloan, Sylvia Thigpen, Let let a War sham, Patricia Bui ce, Ellss Mercer and the Crackerjacks. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and are looking for ward to another talent show. The Ruritans are to be com mended for such a fine job. Their organisation Is a ore a asset to the Cedar Fork Com munity. C?l?brattt Birthday Mrs. Daisy Morris cele brated her 66th birthday Wed nesday night. Her daughter, Mrs. "Peart James honored her mother with a birthday supper. Guests were Mrs. Lillian Ray nor and Mr. and Mrs. Mack Raynor. Mrs. Norrls also has another daughter, Mrs.Vernell Langley of Rocky Mount who couldn't be present a the sup per. Birthday Party Little Miss Belinda Sue Ray nor had a birthday party Sat urday. She was three years old. Belinda received many nice and useful gifts. Fair Duplin County had one winner taking honors In the Horticul ture compeiitlo n a die N.C. Stae Far this year. Grace Blizzard, Rt. 1. Kenansvtlle, won second place In hot pep pers and second place In sweet peppers. The County also had three winners in the Culinary Depa rtment a the Stae Far this year. Grace Blizzard, Rt. 1, Box 166, Kenansvtlle, won first place in candy (peanut brittle). Mrs. Betsy Sharpe, Kenans vtlle, won four first place aw ards - three In fan?y ViUtes and cookies, and One in can dy. Miss Baifeara Summarlin Barbara Finch of Wallace will enter the Miss Veteran Pageant in Warsaw as Miss Wallace-Rose Hill. Barbara is the granddaugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Ay cock of Wallace and is a sen ior at Wallace-Rose Hill High School. She has green eyes and brown hair, is S ft. 6 1/2 Inches tall. She is a member of the Wallace Methosist Chu rch and is very active in chu rch affairs and school activ ities. Her hobbies include basket ball. skiing, creative writing and piano. Miss Barbara Finch Miss Barbara Summerlln of WsrSaw will be sponsored in the Miss Vet's Pageant by Qulnn Wholesale of Warsaw. Barbara is the sixteen-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Llston Summerlln of Warsaw and is a student at James Ken an High School. She has brown hair and brown eyes and her special talent is dancing.
