He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Archie Benson of Kenans -
vllle, and is a 1960 graduate
of James Kenan High School.
Benson entered the Army in
September, 1966, served in
Vietnam from June 1967 to June,
1968, and ?(as released from the
Army upon returning to the
United States.
While In Vietnam, he acted
as a documentation specialist
for Headquarters Company,
64th Transportation Brigade,
and was awarded the Army
Commenddation Medal for
quickly grasping and efficient
handling of rapidly changing
transportation requirements.
He Is maraled to the former
Judy Martin, daughter of Mr,
and Mrs. Forest Martin of Ken*
ansvllle. The Martins reside
at Route 1, Kenansville.
