Hodges and Miss Mary Lee Sykes of the Duplin County Heal th Department attended a meet ing at N.C. Sanitarium at Mc Cain on last Thursday. Craft fam ily. Miss Frances Stroud, who te aches in the high school at Th omasville, was weekend guest of her parents, the J.B. Strouds. Kanansville Kontract Klub <? The members of the Kenans ville Kontract Klub met on last Thursday night with Mrs. KB. Boney as hostess. Additional guests, included, Mrs. A.T. Outlaw, Mrs. H.D. Taylor and Mrs. G.V. Gooding. The high est score for the club mem bers playing was made by Mrs. F.W. McGowan, and Mrs. Out I law was Ugh scorer for vis itors. For refreshments, Mrs. I Boney served pound cake, cof fee and salted nuts. Favors were Easter baskets filled with jelly-beans. Arrangements of mixed spring flowers were used to decorate for the occasion. Stroud, retiring patron. A social hour was enjoyed in the beautifully decorated din ing room. The hostess were Dora and Davis Evans, Molly Westbrook, Lucy Whitman, Elizabeth and Herman Whit man, Euice Brook, Hazel Hol land and Rovene Wolever. They served punch and party cake squares to the 44 present. Gladys Evans, Mrs. Alvin Bak er, Norman, Thurman, William and Davis Evans. I Sanford Home Extension Club The Stanford Home Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Marie Monk. The meeting was opened by the president, Mr J. Eva Miller. Extension agent, Mrs. Walla ce spoke on the topic "Invest ing in Family Relationship". Each person had questionnaires to answer after the discussion. There was one question that hit the key note. What does it take to make a home? The club members gave 10 reasons as an answer to the question. 1. House 2. Love 3. Finan cial cooperation S. Leader ship 6. Communication 7. Children 8. Energy 9. Time 10. and money. However with the above thoughts in mind the club applied these to various stages of family relationship on how they could improve rela tionships at home. Mrs. Wallace made six im portant announcements concer ning the meeting events for the H.E.C. The hostess served a deli cious menu of potato salad op en face sandwiches, windmill cookies, mints, Easter egg can dy, and hot coffee.
