Mrs. Annis George
JACKSONVILLE ? Mrs. An
nie Lou George, 62, of Kinston,
died Saturday in Onslow Mem
orial Hospital.
Graveside services were held
Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Jar
man Cemetery in Richlands.
Survivors include four daugh
ters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ottaway
and Mrs. Louise Swlnson, both
of Verona, Mrs. Alice Sullivan
of Durham and Mrs. Jean Chase
of Kinston; five sons. Earl of
Richmond, Va? Nathaniel,
Luther and Dean Jarman, all
of Kinston; two stepdaughters,
Mrs. Etta Mae Bostick of Wa
shington, D.C. and Mrs. Retha
Hudler of Chester, Va.;
one stepson, Dewey Jarman of
Trenton; one sister, Mrs. Sally
Brock of Kenansville; four half
sisters. Mrs. Ruth jwlnspn of
Chinquapin; Trudy Ozzte and
Effle Futrell, both of GreenvH
lie; two brothers, Paul Heath of
Chinquapin and Kerby Heath of
High Point; one half-brother,
Harper Heath; of Kinston; 20
grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
Henry L Martin
Henry L. Martin, 72, retired
employee of the Carolina Pow
er and Light Company died
at his home in Warsaw Sunday
morning. The prominent War
saw citizen had been active in
the Civic and religious life of
the community, including the
Church, school, agricultural,
and youth programs. In 1957
he was the recipient of the dis
tinguished service award and
other honors in his long car
eer as a public servant. Fun
eral services were held
Wednesday afternoon at the
West Hill Street Baptist Ch
urch, the Rev. R.A. Morris
Pastor officiated.
He is survived by his wife
Mrs. Lena Martin, one daught
er, Mrs. Pearl Maye, two sons,
Owen B. and Henry Lee, one
Wkr I, and a member of Tyre
Masonic Lodge No. 60 of War
saw.

Native Of Rose
Hill Dies In S. C.
Joseph Daniel Teachey, Sr.,
64, native of Rose Hill died at
his home at Fair Play, S.C.
on Friday, April 30th after a
prolonged illness.
Mr. Teachey was the oldest
son of the late Charlie and
Mrs. Mattie Evans Teachey of
Rose Hill and had many rel
atives and friends in this
vicinity.
Until his retirement almost
two years ago, he and his wife
owned and managed the oper
ation of the Una Lee Nursing
Home in Traveler's Rest, S.C.
Upon retirement they moved
to Fair Play, S.C. and lived
on Hartwell Lake. Mr. Tea
chey was a member of the Bap
tist Church in Fair Play and
served as a Deacon on its
Board. He had also
ban active in the Lions Clt(b
and other civic clubs for years.
His funeral was held in the
O'Dell Funeral Home in Trav
elers Rest and was conducted
by the Reverend Mr. DeForr,
his pastor. Interment, was in
Grindvtew Memorial Cemetery

Survivors are his wife, Mrs.
Una C. Russell Teachey, a son,
J.D. Teachey Jr. of Wallace, a
daughter, Mrs. Victor BurnS
of Bradenton, Florida, a step
son, Jack Russell of Greenv

Teachey Jr. of Rose Hill and
two sisters, Mrs. E.G. Murray
Sr. and Mrs. Leon Slkes, also
of Rose Hill, six grandchildren

Two Car Accidant
One person wis treated and
released, two persons were
hospitalized with possible ser
ious injuries at Duplin General
Hospital, following a two-car
wredt about S o'clock Sunday
afternoon at Sarecta.
State Trooper Edwin R. Kir
by, investigating officer, said
that Benjamin Franklin (Fran
kle) Kearns, about 30 of Rt.
1, Kenansville was hospitalized
with head injuries.
Lee Blizzard, 79, Rt. 1, Beu
laville, also hospitalized, re
ceived lacerations of the head
. and ear and possible servical
fracture.
Mrs. Daphney Blizzard Lee,
49, Rt. 1, Beulaville, daugh
ter of Lee Blizzard was trea
ted for leg injuries and was
released.

are sorry to learn that her
mother, Mrs. LJF. Byrd was
admitted to Highsmlth Hospital
In Fayettevllle Tuesday mor
ning. Mrs. Byrd underwent
an emergency operation for a
perforated ulcer and periton
itis.

Trooper Klrby said Kearns
drove his 1962 Chevy II Con
vertible from rural paved road
1701 onto rural paved road 1700.
The Kearns car crossed the ce
nter line and struck a 1966 Ram
bler, driven by Mrs. Lee. The
Lee car ran off the pavement
onto the right shoulder of the
road In an effort to miss the
Kearn's car.
The Rambler was damaged
an estimated $1,000, and the
Chevy n was declared a total
loss. The two vehicles, Klrby
said, hit left front to left front.
'? Kearns was charged with dri
ving on the wrong side of the
road.
