Jernlgan of Ken ansvUle was installed Master of St Jatn's Lodge #13,AF. 4 AM. when the annual Installa tion of officers for 1973 was held Thursday night, Jan. 4, *7:30. Other officers included C.T. Mathis, Sr. Warden; J.C. Net hercutt, Jr. Warden; Z.W.Fra zelle. Treasurer; C.L. Nichol son, Secretary; Willard frown. Sr. Deacon; Maynard Qulm Jr. Deacon; Larry Howard, Steward; Lewis Westbrook, Chaplain and Join Barnette, Tyler. The service was an open Installation with the welcome being extended by Allen Dunn a pest Master of the Masonic Lodge. Respoaces were given fay Mrs. Florence B. Brown, Worthy Matron of Kenansville Chapter, #815, Order of the Eastern Star and Mrs. Louise K. Boney. The latter repre senting the widows of the de ceased members who were spe cial guests of the occasion. Installing Officer was Lauren Sharpe a Past Master of this Lodge also a Past District De puty. Installing Marshall was Wilbert Jones also a past Mas ter of this Lodge and the In stalling Chaplain was Francis Oakley the present District De puty Grand Master Following the Installation cer emony the Past Master's Jewel was presented to David English, outgoing master The presen tation was made by John Bar nette past Master of the Lodge. The Benedtcaiion was made fay Snodie Wilson, another past master of ?. John's Lodge. The meeting was preceeded fay a supper at 6:30 when com bination barbecue plates were served to about 100. Among this number were many ladies bands for this special occa stop. The Blessing was asked the officers wives were pre Mrs. E.S. McGowan was hos tess for the Town and Country Bridge Clid> when it met on Tuesday night All members were present bur one and her vacancy was filled by Mrs. Stuart Hall. After two pro gressions the hostess invited her guests into the dining room for refreshments. She served cocoanut cake from one end of the prettity arranged table and Mrs. Hajlpouredcranberry punch from the opposite end. Assorted cookies and salted nuts were also served. When scores were totaled it was f ound that Mrs. Hall had won. the high score prise and Mrs. HJ). Taylor a close runner H> for second high. Mrs. Robert Franklin Wil liamson was hostess for the Liberty Hall Bridge Club Wed., night. All members were pre sent but one and her vacancy was filled by Mrs. D.S. Wil liamson. Between progressions the hostess served cocoanut pie and coffee. She was assisted in serving by Mrs. Hazel W. Scott. Mrs. D.S. Williamson was high scorer and Mrs. Ha zel Scott was second high sc orer. They were each appro priately remembered. Past Matrons and Past Patrons' Fourteen members and two visitors were present when the Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club of KenansvUle Chapter #216. Order of the Eastern Star met on Tuesday night at 6:30 in the Tar Hill Room of the Rose Hill Restaurant. Members present were; Celia and J.B. Stroud, Pearl and Faison Mc Gowan, Doris and Robert Chest nutt, Louise K. Boney, Virginia D. Holland, Ruby C. Newton, Mi) i bark Wallace and Dennis Lee Aldridge of Magnolia were married on Sat. Dec. S3, tSTO at three o'c lock in the afternoon. The pri vate ceremony was performed in Grove Presbyterian Church in Kenansville by the Rev. Troy D. Mollis. The bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Rlvenbark of Wallace The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ho race Aldridge of Magnolia. Wedding music wasfurnlshed by Mrs. Louise w. Mitchell. Guests included only the two families and very close friends.
