Copies ct "The Confederate Currier", the division paper, were distributed by Mrs. Wells who also read the message from Mrs. Alton Keith, Division Pre sident. in which she stressed the goals for this year: 0) Each chapter to increase its membership by 10 percant;(2) Each chapter to sward at least one military cross of honor and one certificate of appre ciation: (3) Work more closely with the children of the Con federacy-, ft) Consider re-dis trlcting some of the present districts; (5) Complete chapter quota for headquarters which Is to be built on the newly acquired lot In Salisbury which is approximately in the center of the state; and (5) Collect all records, diaries, letters, and all pertinent papers conn ected with Confederate history possible. Mrs. Weils also announced th at the district meeting will be held in Burgaw and that Mrs. Henry L. Stevens. Jr. is giving a new district award which will be s small silver bowl for the best year book. She further an nounced that the next Huprr meeting will be held on Feb. 21st rather than Feb. Mth. As has been the custom since this chapter was organised, the pro gram coon me merited the birth days of three great southern leaders who were born in Jam General Robert E. He believed as well one should strive to attain the maximum in life. Mrs. N.B. Boney gave a very instructive paper on Maury - "The Pathfinder at the Seas". The hostesses assistedby Ki rs. Rivere johnson served a delicious salad plate consisting of congealed cherry salad, sau sage balls, cheese stars, cho colate chip cookies, and coffee to the following members: Mrs. N.B. Boney, Mrs. Fsison Mc Gowan, Mrs. E.S. McGowan of Ksnansville; Mrs. W.E. Moore, Mrs. James W. Colwell, Mrs. Turner Holland of Turkey; and, Mrs. Jessie Brock,' Mrs. WJ. Middle*on, Mrs. Henry L. The Call to Prayer did Self Denial for women of the War saw United Methodist Church will be held at 7:30, Jan. 39. 1973, at the Prayer Chapel of the Church. Adult Luncheon Feb. 1, at 13:00 noon, the YOUNG IN HEART CLUB, the Senior Adults of the Warsaw Baptist Church, will gather for their second meeting since th eir organisation last spring. This Club includes all those members of the church and 3 unday School, who are sixty years of age and over. The luncheon meeting will have as its special guests. Rev. and Mrs. Waldo Early, retired minister and wife, of Clinton, N.C. Mr. Early served as Interim Pastor of the church before the coming of Rev. Br ooks as pastor. Other plans have also been made for a good time together for all those who attend. Ycuth Banquet The annual Youth Banquet, honoring the Junior and Senior High Youth of the Warsaw Bap tist Church will be held Sat., Feb. 10, at 6:30 p.m. The very special guest for this banquet will be Miss Con stance Ann Dorn, of Kinston, N.C. who is the present Miss North Carolina. The youth will also honor Miss Jo Carol Jones, a msmbcr of the Warsaw Bap tist Church, who was- recently selected as Miss N.C. Poultry Tickets for the Banquet will be 50* and Miss Je?y Carlton for their Sunday School Oas*. and obtain their tickets as soon as possible, as a cut-off date will be set, beyond which no further tickets trill be sold. Rtvhral Rev. Bob Glasgow of Wal nut Cove, N.C., and Mr. Ken Adams of Maiden, N.C. will be the guest preacher and song leader for the revival, which will begin at the Warsaw Bap tist Church, Sun. Feb ll at the morning service, and continue through the week, with services at 7:30 pan. each night, except ^Sun. night when it will be at 6:30 p.m. These' two fine young men were both members of fornjer chur ches served by Rev. Bfbeks.. the pastor of the Warsaw Bap tist Church, and both of them come highly recommended, and with a sense ef dedication to die task of preaching and minlster ing for the week they will be in our community.
