All Start To Ploy Copt F?ar The Duplin County Dixie Bays (age 13-14) All-Stars will go against Cape Fear in a doable efiminatioa tournament starting Thursday, July 14th at 6 p.m. in Burgaw. The Duplin All-Stars ate made up from Dixie teams from Warsaw, Faison, Wallace, Beulaville, Kenansville and Fountain. The Stars are coached by Joel Coleman, Warsaw, and Fete Melville of Wallace. m Byr III III H il? 396-1247 The weathe* has been almost unbearable lately, for work, that is. Somehow people can always beat the heat whea it comes to play. So the number visiting Kenan Gym has not lessened a meat deal. The Dixie Boys, coached by I Kenansville S C Recreation^ % 1 jt*\T"T<JT7 i 3EBK Jerry Hall, finished their season last week with a 3-10 record. Everyone had a good time play ing, even though a lot of victories did not come to die Kenansville Boys. Each boy is to be commended for his dedica tion and hard work. Many thanks for the interest and participation shown by all the parents this summer. Special congratnlations gb to Reno Casteen and Robbie Blanchard for being chosen to the County All-Star team. The All-Stars will be coached by Warsaw's Joel Coleman and the County team will play Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m. in Burgaw. The Dixie Boys also finished the summer schedule last week. The final standings were: Cubs 8-1, Reds 6-3, Dodgers 3-6, and Yankees 2-7. The various types of training and responsibility that young boys gain in playing baseball cannot be equaled.
