By the way, avetages and comparisons most often do not
show actual facts. . .An example. . .Duplin County
pupil-teacher ratio for 1978 was 19.2. . However,
classroom teachers will tell you the classrooms had 30 or
?jve. . .Also, the millions of dollars of revenue sharing
the county commissioners have turned over to the schools
do not show up in any comparison figures. . .When we
know these millions are not used on comparison and
average charts, we can readily understand why others are
amazed at dollar accomplishments when the figures fltow
so few dollars...

I was talking to a little girl awhile back. . .She said she
was in the second grade.. .1 asked her the usual questions.
' . .What did you learn in school today?. . .She said.
Nothing, I was too tired.. .Well, why were you tired?. . .1
sat up last night, all night studying. . .Well, didn't your

fmd read. I have to go to bed every night at nine o'clock but
I didn't go to sleep. . .Well, if you didn't learn anything
while you were in school today, what did you do?. . .1 went
to sleep. . .You know you didn't!. . .1 did. . .Didn't the
teacher wake you up?. . .No, she couldn't find me. . .Why
? not?. . .1 hid under the desk. . .Somehow, I think you are
putting me on. Did you have cake for lunch?. . .No, 1 had
something better.. .What?.. .Meat loaf.. .Bye, little girl,
I have been suckered enough for one day...

hostess Wednesday night for
the Liberty Hall Bridge Club.
