ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Atkin of Holts Summit,
Missouri, announce the engagement of their daughter,
Kimberly Dee, to Allen Warren Lanier Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Allen W. Lanier Sr. of Chinquapin. Miss Atkin is
employed by the Missouri Department of Professional
Registration. Lanier is employed by General Electric
Company at Reform, Missouri. He is formerly of
Chinquapin and has made his home in Missouri for the
past three years. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Amos Lanier and Mrs. Kail Brown, all of Chinquapin. A
February 14 wedding is planned at Union Hill Baptist
Church in Holts Summit.

riage.
The double-ring ceremony
was conducted by Rev. Jim
Smith at six o'clock in the
evening in the home of the
bride's aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. Horace Nethercutt
of Albertson.
The bride is the daughter
of Floyd Elvin Smith Jr. and
the granddaughter of Mrs.
Emma H. Smith, all of
Albertson. The groom's
parents are the late Dwight
Fiederick Buck Sr. and Mrs.
Jean Monroe of Lynchburg, ?

Escorted to the altar and
given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a long
sleeved. champagne-colored
knit dress which was ac
centuated with gold piping
and tied at the waist with a
light brown belt. She carried
a bouquet of white carnations
and red silk flowers.
Miss Tina Suit, a close
friend of Kinston, served as
the bride's maid of honor.
Peter C. Buck of Charlotte
served as his brother's best
man.
Following a wedding trip
to the Nortlf Carolina monn
tains, the couple now resides
at 4-H Briar Cliff Apartment*
in Wilson.

by Mrs. Delaine Rector of
Kenansville, who 'was H
assisted by her daughter. I

nity College in Kinston, Prior
to her marriage, she was

The groom is a graduate of
Grainger High School in
Kinston and is a 1971 gradu
ate of East Carolina Uni
versity in Greenville. He is
employed by Animal Health
of Wilson in the agricultural
pharmaceutical sales divi
sion.

reception, honoring the
couple, was given at the
home of Mr. and Mrs.
Horace Nethercutt. The

prepared for the reception
Rehearsal Dinner
On Friday evening, Mr.
and Mrs. Nethercutt enter
tained the wedding party and
their friends at a rehearsal
dinner in their home.
