Hospital Auxiliary Game Tournament The Duplin General Hos pital Auxiliary wit' ?pyr..>ot a game tournament < n N'-uch 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Lounge, McGowen Building, at James Sprunt Technical College. The price per person is $2.50. Games of any kind maf- be played. Participants will fur nish their own cards and score pads. The Hospital Auxiliary was organized on April 2nd. 1980. and has since grown from 10 to 31 active members. The Auxiliary serves the hospital bv manning the information desk seven days each week from 1:45 p.m. until 8:15 p.m.. and by delivering the patient mail each day excepting Sunday. The members collect maga zines and other reading material and distribute to the patients and waiting rooms. Altogether they give an average of 250 hours per month. The Game Tournament is a fund-raising project. The Auxiliary will use the pro ceeds to purchase equipment for the hospital. In the two years of existence, this group of volunteers has purchased equipment for two depart ments. For the operating room, a Vac Pac (Positioning Pads) was bought. Recently ? the inhalation therapy de partment asked the Suciliary for scanners to be used by the therapists. Two were purchased. Richard Harrell. adminis trator of Duplin General Hospital, said. "The Auxi liary at Duplin General Hos pital is providing an in valuable service to patients, visitors and employees. In addition to the on-going service programs such as patient mail delivery and visitor information, the Auxiliary makes periodic contributions to the Hospital for the purchase of much needed medical equipment and instruments. The commitment and enthusiasm of the members of the Auxi liary is truly outstanding and we appreciate the fine ser vice they render at our hospital."
