Beulaville News Mrs. J.G. Kennedy spent the week at Atlantic Beach with hjrs. Paul Hunter of Warsaw and her children. Tim and Paula and her husband. Irene Carroll spent the past weekend with Bessie Sandlin in Jacksonville. Mrs. Herman Smith en joyed the World's Fair in Tennessee with a group of friends. Alice Ann Pate spent the past weekend in Greenville with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Rayburn Kennedy spent Friday night in Ginton with Jerry Cottle and enjoyed a cookout. Rev. and Mrs. Garland Foushee made a business trip to Kinston Monday and visited with patients in Lenoir Memorial Hospital from the local area. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nethercutt attended a con vention of county commis sioners held in Baltimore last week. Nan Pate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Pate at tended the band music camp at Campbell College at Buies Creek the past week. Her parents took her there on Sunday. lona Collier of Trenton spent several days during the past week with Mrs. E.P. Thigpen, Nernie Kennedy and Louise Mercer. The Sandlin children and grandchildren of Dudley visited with Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Sandlin Sr. during the past week. Randy, a college student, also visaed with his parents. Mrs. Ruth Shaw Pattrick of Greensboro visited Mrs. Colon Shaw from Monday thru Wednesday of last week. Mrs Ransom Mercer was dismissed from Lenoir Mem orial Hospital after a few days stay there. Ida Mae Sanderson re mains in the hospital in Jacksonville. David Fountain is a patient in Duplin General and George Lanier remains in Lenoir Memorial in intensive care. Edwards Family Reunion The Edwards family re union is scheduled for Sun day. August I at 2 p.m. at the Fountaintown Commu nity Building. The clan in cludes the following: Johnny Franklin Edwards. Dot Ed wards, Burrell Edwards, Sally Edwards Brinson, Everett Edwards, Corinna Edwards Ball, Matthew Ed wards and the late Gardner Edwards relatives. All are invited to join in this reunion, bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a Sunday afternoon of fellowship. I . '? I Faison Rec News The Faison Recreation Department is trying to or ganize a women's Softball league for the late summer. All interested should contact Frank Hollowed at 267-0111 or 293-7335 or Ed Flowers at 267-4281. Pairings have been made for the Faison Recreation tennis tournament. Play will begin Friday. July 23 and run through August 8. First round matches should be completed on or before July 29; second round on or before August 3. with quar ter finals through finals Aug. 4-8. Unless schedule con flicts. all finals should be played Sunday afternoon. August 8. Entry fee is $1 for singles and $1 per player for doubles. This fee includes consolation singles and doubles for first-round losers. Trophies will go to all finalists. Players must con tact their opponent in each round and arrange playing time at their own conven ience.
