In February of next year, the Club plans to do a children's play which will be presented for students in grades 1-5. The script will be chosen from the aforementioned contest, wbich is open to any and all residents of Duplin County. The play could be com pletely original or taken from a classic children's story. It should be fairly short with a running time of no more than 45 minutes. It should also have a small cast and need minimal use of costumes,1 props, set, etc. If interested, contact John Goodnow, the visiting artist at JSTC for further infor mation. Call soon since the cut-off date for accepting scripts will be Jan. 7. Credit Card Safety I Credit "cartis are handy sources of instant money but thev can he a real headache if lost or stolen. If that happens you may be liable for up to $50 on each card if someone uses it illegally. You can protect yourself against someone using your credit card. Carry only the ones you use regularly and make a list of all your credit card account numbers. In clude the addresses and telephone numbers to con tact if your cards are lost or stolen. Then be sure to keep the list some place other than your billfold. To report a stolen or lost credit card, call the creditor immediately; then follow-up with written notification. This quick action may keep you from paying for items that someone else bought. Women and Pension Plans Generally, women do not receive as much in pension benefits as men. The reasons? Women in the labor force are more likely to work part-time, are more likely to be working for a small com pany, and are more likely to be in low-paying jobs. Women in employer-paid pension plans usually end up getting about half as much as men because of shorter ser vice and lower earnings. And inflation can eat up those benefits in short order. Women counting on a spouse's pension plan may ? have some surprises, too. Women may be left without any pension income if the husband dies before reaching retirment age or if he failed to choose the sur vivor annuity option at re tirement. Pension plans usually don't cover divorced wifes either. iTLje: "THfLI/\N L 4SSN, ivyy |?| The Thalian Association, organized in 1788 in Wilmington, N.C., is the oldest Little Theatre group in the U.S. Open House Beginning Our Christmas Season W 1 VIFriday And Saturday November 26 And 27 We have special prices throughout the store for ladles, Juniors and men.
