music was presented bv Mrs.
Linda Turner, pianist.
'More" and "The Wedding
Prayer" were sung by Mrs.
Diana Herring. Traditional
vedding marches were used.

Escorted to the altar by her
ather and given in marriage
by her parents, the bride
wore a formal gown of white
t)ridal satin and Chantilly
lace. The fitted lace bodice
featured a Queen Anne
neckline outlined with lace
etched with seed pearls. The
full-length sleeves of
matching lace ended with
bridal satin inserts. The floor
-length skirt extended into a
chapel train. To compliment
her gown, she chose a white
waltz-length veil of nylon silk
illusion with a Camelot head
piece which were enhanced
with dainty Venise lace.
Miss Faye Kelly, sister of
the bride, was maid of honor
and bridesmaid was Miss
Lisa Kelly, also a sister of the
bride.
Earl Jones was his son's
best man. Ushers were
Roger Jones, brother of the
groom. Brian Rhodes and

by Mrs. Jeane Pate, aunt of
the bride. Miss Wendy
Lanier presided at the regis
ter.
After a wedding trip to
unannounced destination,
the couple is residing on
Route 2. Mount Olive.
The bride is a 1978 gradu
ate of East Duplin High
School and received her
associate degree in nursing
from James Sprunt Technical
College. She is now em
ployed by Duplin General
Hospital.
The groom, a 1977 gradu
ate of East DupKn High
School, is employed by North
Hills. Inc. and is presently
working at Jacksonville.
Reception
Immediately following the
ceremony, the bride's
parents entertained at a
reception in the church fel
lowship hall.
After the couple cut the
first slice of the three-tiered
white wedding cake, which
was adorned with clusters of
flowerettes in the bride's
chosen color of pink, Mrs.
Carolyn Sanderson and Mrs.
Jennifer Brinson completed
the serving. Punch was
poured by Mrs. Debbie
Wheeler.
Other Entertainment
Parents of the groom-elect
honored the couple,
members of the weddine
party and friends with a pig
picking on Oct. 30 at Smith's
Community Building.
The family of the groom
to-be honored the couple
with a floating shower on
Oct. 9 at the home of the
groom.
The women of Alum
Springs Baptist Church and
aunt of the bride were hos
tesses for a floating shower
on Sept. 29 in the church
fellowship hall.
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Kennedy of Route 2, Pink Hill, announce the engagement
and forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Shelia. to
Terry Heath, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Heath of Pink
Hill, Route 1. The wedding is planned for December 18 at
three o'clock at Sandy Plain Free Will Baptist Church,
Pink Hill. No invitations are being mailed. All friends and
relatives are cordially invited to attend.

Liberty Hall Bridge Club
Mrs. W.M. Ingram was
hostess for the Liberty Hall
Bridge Club Wednesday
night. Mrs. Ellis Vestal sub
stituted for the only absent
member. High score for
members was made by Mrs.
Stuart Hall for which she was
presented a gift. Mrs. Vestal
was also given a gift. Be
tween progressions, the
hostess served fruit cake and
Russian tea. Christmas nap
kins and tallies were used.
Kontract Klub
Mrs. Faison McGowen
was hostess for the Kenans
ville Kontract Klub in the
home of Mrs. Stuart Hall
Thursday night. It was with
perfect attendance. Between
progressions, the hostess,
assisted by Mrs. Hall, served
a salad course with coffee or
tea. Christmas tallies and
napkins were used. High
score for the three progres
sions was made by Mrs.
W.M. Ingram. She was pre
sented a gift.

program at the next regular
meeting of the Silver
Streakers to be held Monday,
Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. in the
fellowship hall of the
Kenansville United
Methodist Church. Mrs.
H.D. Taylor will be in
charge.

being offered for Christmas
wrapped packages, lhey

Club Christmas

The Warsaw Garden Club
and the Home Gardners Club
met jointly for their Decem
ber meetings at The Country
Squire on Wednesday, Dec.
1st. The Warsaw Garden
Club had 26 members
present and 18 guests. Mrs.
C.M. Rice called the meeting
to order and called on Joe
West to introduce guest
flutist. Janice Cumbley and
guest speaker, Mrs. Jimmy
Creech. He also introduced
Mrs. Clara Kalmar. who had
donated a watercolor paint
ing for the door prize. West
did an outstanding job of
decorating The Baronial Hall
for the Christmas season.
Mrs. Creech returned
thanks. During the meal,
Janice entertained the group
with Christmas music. Mrs.
Creech gave the program,
"A Christmas Story for Pat
rick," a story she had written
for their son on his first
Christmas. The group closed
the meeting by singing
Christmas carols.
