WM mmmmm Engagement Announced Julia H. Mercer of Beulaville announces the engagement and plans for the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Deborah Starr, to Jerry Wayne Padgette, son of Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Padgette of Wallace. Starr is also the daughter of the late Allen Ralph Mercer. The wedding is planned for Sunday, June 17, at four o'clock in the afternoon at Cabin Free Will Baptist Church, Route 1, Beulaville. r ? ' 1 Engagement Announced Mr. "and Mrs. Daniel R. Keel and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Williams, both of Route 2, Pink Hill, proudly announce the forthcoming marriage of their children, Beverly Renec Keel to Jerry Wayne Williams. A June 23rd wedding is planned at Gum Branch Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at three o'clock. No invitations are being sent. Friends and relatives are cordially invited. Kennedy-Brown Exchange Vows In a candlelight double-ring cere mony at five o'clock Saturday, April 28, 1984, Miss Anita Jane Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown of Route 1, Pink Hill, and Tony Kevin Kennedy, son of Mr. and Mrs. O'Bryan Kennedy of Route 2. Pink Hill, pledged their wedding vows at the Potters Hill Advent Christian Church. Tfie Reverend Edward M. Neal officiated the ceremony. A program of music was presented by Mrs. Lora Hall of Goldsboro. The song, "Just fou and 1" was sung by Mrs. Pam Kennedy. The bride, given in marriage by hoi parents, was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a romantic gown of white bridal organza. The empire bodice featured a beaded Chantilly lace yoke and collar. A deep ruffle of matching lace ac cented the front and also the back of the bodice. The long full bishop sleeves of organza ended in a wide, cuff of lace and buttons. The A-line skirt fell into a chapel-length train. Ruffles of Chantilly lace adorned the front, ending with a flounced ruffle at the hemline. For her headpiece the bride chose a fingertip veil of French illusion. The Juliet headband was covered with lace and beaded with bridal pearls. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies and babies'-breath with yellow rib bons. Miss Janice Byrd of Pink Hill was maid of honor. Miss Deloris Aycock of Chinquapin, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Paige Marshburn of Pink Hill were bridesmaids. The flower girl was Jill Brown of Potters Hill. Each wore a bustleback gown of sheer polyester. The ruffled front and back collar formed capelet sleeves. The skirt of the dress was flared and fell into a flounced hem. The maid of honor and bridesmaids carried bouquets of yellow and white daisies. The flowergirl carried a basket of yellow and white daisies. The cousin of the groom served as best man. Ushers were Andy Baker of Beulaville and Timmy Kennedy of Pink Hill, brother of the groom. The ring bearer was Dennis Kennedy, brother of the groom. They were attired in gray long-tailed tuxedoes, white tucked front, wing-tip collared shirts with black bow ties. The groom chose the same style with a black jacket. They wore boutonnieres of yellow carnations. The mother of the bride chose a light lilac dress of chiffon. The ruffled front and back collar formed, capelet sleeves. The skirt of the dress was made of soft knit which fell in pleats. The mother of the groom chose a light lavender dress of chiffon. The ruffled front and back collar formed split sleeves. The skirt of the dress was of a soft knit which fell from a fitted waist. Each mother wore a corsage of white carnations. ^ Mrs. Gail Burroughs and Mrs. Glenda Brown, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Each wore a corsage of white carnations. Miss Kristy Ball and Miss Michell Ball presided at the register. Reception A reception was hosted by thd bride's parents at the Potters Hill Community Building. Refreshments consisted of mints, sausage balls, ^ orange balls, cheese straws, toasted pecans and pickles and punch. The punch was served by Mrs. Marsha Britt of Albertson, aunt ofathe bride. The three-tiered cake was served by Mrs. Rebecca Brown and Mrs. Glenda Brown, both aunts of the bride. Rehearsal Party The family of the groom hosted a party in the fellowship hall of the ? Potters Hill Advent Christian ? Church. Other Courtesies A miscellaneous shower was given by the parents of the groom on ' March 21st at their home. The bride-elect was honored with _ a lingerie shower on April 8th in the 0 home of Miss Janice Byrd with co-hostess Mrs. Paige Marshbum. * ?
