Rhodes-Austin Wed Donna Marie Austin of Cary and Phillip Earl Rhodes of Garner were united in marriage on April 28 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Rev. Henry Dollar officiated the seven o'clock double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Robert A. Austin of Cary and the late Mrs. Austin. She is a graduate of Cary Senior High School and is employed at Ready Mixed Concrete Company as an accounts payable clerk. ? ?? _/ j l ne groom is me son 01 mr. anu Mrs. William T. Rhodes of Clayton. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University, and is employed as a marketing representative with Uni Worth Glass Company. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Robert L. Austin. She wore a white Chiffon gown decorated in silk venise and chantilly laces. The dress neckline featured a stand-up collar of illusion yoke. The basque waistline was accented with narrow lace. Lace and pearls and sequins adorned the front. The bishop sleeves and cuffs were edged in chantilly lace. The chiffon skirt was swag-draped and caught up with rosettes. A tiered ruffle bordered the skirt. An attached chapel train was _ made of a cascade of lace-edged ruffles. The bride wore a headpiece of fingertip veil of illusion with a Juliet cap covered in matching lace with scalloped edge veil and blusher. The matron of honor was Mrs. Jeanette A. Anderson of Raleigh, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Brenda R. Tannery of Clayton, sister of the groom; Miss Merri-Vance Allen of Savannah, Georgia. Mrs. Cathy C. Haddock of Garner and Ms. Teresa L. Creech of Lakewood. Ohio. The best man was the groom's father. Ushers were Gary T. Rhodes and David A. Rhodes, both of Clayton, and brothers of the groom, Carroll C. Scott and Gordon R. Scott, both of Garner. The paternal grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Cyrus Rhodes of Mount Olive and Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Kelly, also of Mount Olive. Mrs. Ann S. Duncan attended the register and Mrs. Anna H. Rhodes was the program attendant. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Emma Hatzler. Following a wedding trip to Kiawah Island and Charleston, S.C., the couple is residing in Garner. On April 21, a bridesmaids lun cheon was given by Mrs. Hazel Austin and Mrs. Jeanette Andersen in Raleigh. A lingerie shower was given on April 15 by Mrs. Brenda Tannery, Mrs. Anna Rhodes and Mrs. Toni Ennis at the home of Mrs. Gwvn Rhodes in Oayton. Moriah Church in the fellowship hall in Raleigh on April 8. An open house "honoring Donna Austin and Phil Rhodes on April 7 was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. John R. Baucom Jr. of Garner, Mr. and Mrs. Van Carpenter of Cary and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stephenson of Garner in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson. A miscellaneous shower was given by Mrs. Arlene Jacobs and Mrs. Jeanette Andersen at the home of Mrs. Hazel Austin in Cary on March 25. Tour Historic Kenansville Visit historic Kenansville on the LIBERTY CART tour and finish your summer evening with a performance of the outdoor drama THE LIBERTY CART or WAR BRIDES. The tours are arranged by the staff of THE LIBERTY CART through the July 13-August 25 season of the outdoor drama. The tour consists of visits to over 15 historic homes and sites in Kenansville, a trip to a working winery in Rose Hill with an op portunity to taste the native Duplin ??? humi ? iji ? " wines, a visit to Liberty Hall, the historic plantation home, a journey through the past in the Cowan Museum, and dinner at either the Graham House Inn or the Country Squire restaurant. The tour concludes with an 8:15 p.m. performance of THE LIBERTY CART or WAR BRIDES in the William R. Kenan Memorial Amphi-, theatre in Kenansville. THE LIBERTY CART.
