Sisters Share Double Wedding Ceremony
Sharon Ann Aibertson and Joseph
Dail, both <Jf Chinquapin, and
Beverly Elaine Aibertson of Chin
quapin and Tony Lyn Cruse of
Aibertson were united in marriage
on Saturday, June 2, at three o'clock
in the afternoon at Sharon Baptist
Church in Chinquapin. Officiating at
the double-ring ceremony was the
Rev. Phillip R. Denton, former
pastor of the brides.
The brides are the daughters of
Mr. and Mrs. Elbridee D. Aibertson
of Chinquapin. Parents of the
grooms are Mr. and Mrs. Norwood
Dail of Chinquapin and Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Cruse of Aibertson.
The church was decorated with an
arrangement of pink and white
chrysanthemums, carnations and
roses. There were green ferns flank
ing the altar, and on either side were
two spiral candelabra holding
burning tapers. After the lighting of
the Trinity candles, the bridal
couples knelt at the kneeling
benches for the benediction.
Preceding the nuptials, a program
of music was rendered by John W.
Boyette Jr. of Warsaw. Mrs. Lori B.
Maready of Rose Hill, soloist, sang
'' Looking Through the Eyes of Love"
and "Let It Be Me." For the
benediction she sang "The Wedding
Prayer." The traditional wedding
marches were used for the cere
mony.
The brides went escorted (o the -
altar by their father and given in
marriage by their parents.
Sharon wore a formal-length gown
of white organza and Nottingham
lace. The gown featured a basque
bodice, high neckline and Victorian
sleeves. Ruffled lace accented the
yoke, sleeves and waist. The full
A-line skirt fell into a deep ruffled
hemline with attached chapel train.
She wore a matching lace-trimmed
bridal hat with bridal illusion.
Elaine wore a formal-length
gown ot white Kachelle lace with a
U-shaped neckline accented with a
lace ruffle and satin ribbon. The
gown featured a fitted bodice and
Queen Anne sleeves. The full skirt
was trimmed in rows of lace ruffles
and satin ribbons flowing to a semi
cathedral train. She wore a Victorian
hat covered in matching lace and
pearls with a bow and streamers of
lace and satin ribbon.
The bridal bouquets were cas
cades of white silk roses and pink
sweetheart roses interspersed with
English ivy.
The maids of honor were Rhonda
Albertson of Chapel Hill, sister of
the brides, and Sheri Martin of
Chinquapin, cousin of the brides.
They were attired in formal gowns of
suede rose chiffon fashioned with a
fitted bodice and off-the shoulder
neckline enhanced with a deep
ruffled effect. The empire waist
accented the full A-line skirt that
extended into a deep ruffled flounce.
In their hair they wore sprigs of
babies'-breath and carried five long
stemmed suede roses with matching
streamers.
The bridesmaids were Barbara
Mobley of Chinquapin. Lori Lynn
Hatcher of Wilmington, cousin of the
brides, and Allison Albertson of
Fayetteville, also a cousin of the
brides. Their gowns and flowers
were identical to that of the honor
attendants. They also wore babies'
breath in their hair.
Angela Batchelor of Chinquapin
was the flower girl. Angela wore a
formal gown like those of the other
attendants. She wore flowers in her
hait enhanced with babies'-breath
and carried a white basket of mums,
roses and carnations.
The grooms chose their fathers.
Norwood Dail and Walter Cruse, to
serve as bestmen. Ushers were
Keith Dail of Chinquapin, brother of
Joseph,, Randy Cruse of Albertson.
brother of Tony, and Bobby Maready
of Rose Hill. The grooms were
attired in white tuxedoes and wore
suede rose boutonnieres. All the
other male attendants wore gray
suits and suede rose boutonnieres.
Bradley Kennedy of Chinquapin
served as ringbearer. His attire was
like that of the other male attendants
and he carried a white satin pillow.
The mother of the brides wore a
suede rose street-length dress fea
turing a cross-worked bodice and a
sash with a flowered print.
The mother of Joseph wore 3 pink
street-length dress of chiffon with a
sheer overlay featuring a ruffled
neckline. The mother of Tony wore a
mint green street-length dress of
chiffon with a sheer overlay and
featuring puffed sleeves. All
mothers wore white silk orchid
corsages.
Mrs. J.W. Albertson of Chin
quapin. paternal grandmother of the
brides, wore a pink and gray
street-length dress with matching
jacket. Mrs. Cyrus W. Futrell of
Chinquapin, maternal grandmother
of the brides, wore a blue street
length dress. Mrs. Alton Mobley of
Chinquapin, aunt of the brides, wore
a blue street-length dress and was
seated with the grandmothers of the
brides.
Mrs. E.N. Riggs of Albertson,
maternal grandmother of Tony, wore
a melon street-length dress. Mrs.
Flonnie Jenkins, paternal grand
mother of Joseph, wore a pink
street-length dress.
All the grandmothers and special
guests wore a corsage of pink
carnations and small daisies.
The wedding was directed by Mrs.
Terry Rivenbark and Mrs. Allen Earl
Rivenbark, both of Wallace. Mrs.
Jerry Hatcher and Mrs. Johnny
Hatcher attended the register.
After a wedding trip to an un
disclosed area, Sharon and Joey will
.reside at Route 1, Chinquapin, and
Elaine and Tony will reside at Route
1. Albertson.
Reception
A reception was held immediately
following the ceremony in the
Denton Hall. The guests were
greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Haywood
Hatcher. The brides' portraits were
displayed on the bridal table which
was draped with a white cloth and
centered with a silk arrangement of
pink mums, carnations and roses.
Brass candlesticks holding pink
candles were placed on either side.
The five-tiered wedding cake was
trimmed with burgundy and pink
roses and was topped with a bride
and groom. After the first traditional
slices were cut the bridal couples,
the wedding cake was served by
Mrs. Gurman Norris. Punch was
poured by Mrs. James Riley. Sharon
Norris and Mrs. O.B. Martin
assisted in serving the guests
wedding mints, cheeseball and
crackers, roasted pecans and nuts
and pickle chips. The goodbyes were
said by Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatcher.
Rehearsal Dinner
On June 1. the Dail-Albertson,
Cruse-Albertson rehearsal party was
given a catered dinner. The focal
table was centered with an arrange
ment of pink mums, roses and
carnations. The guests were served
barbecued pork and chicken, slaw,
potato salad, hushpuppies, tea
and/or soft drinks and cake. The
rehearsal was held afterwards.
Prenuptial Courtesies
On May 1, the brides were
honored with a double miscellaneous
shower at Sharon Baptist Church in
Chinquapin. Upon arrival they were
presented pink carnation with white
daisies- corsages. Refreshments in
eluded cake squares, nuts, cheese
ball and crackers, pickles, assorted
vegetables with dip, and punch.
Many useful gifts were received.
On April 28, Elaine, bride-elect,
was honored with a miscellaneous
shower at Albertson Community
Building. She was presented a
corsage of pink carnations and white
daisies. Refreshments included cake
squares, nuts, mints, potato chips
and dip, pickles and punch. Many
useful gifts were received.
On May 3, Elaine was honored
with a miscellaneous shower at Kin
ston. She was presented a corsage of
pink carnation. Refreshments in
cluded cake squares, nuts, mints.

On May 29, the brides were
honored with a double lingerie
shower given by their bridesmaids.
The guests were served cake, potato
chips and dip, chicken salad sand
wickes, assorted chocolate candies
and soft drinks. The brides enjoyed
opening their gifts from the 24
guests attending.
On May 30, Sharon and Joey were
honored with a dinner given by the
NCNB employees at the Graham
House Inn in Kenansville. The
guests enjoyed a steak dinner in
cluding baked potatoes, salad, tea
and coffee with apple tarts for
dessert.

Mr. and Mrs. I.J. Sandlin have
enjoyed having their two grandsons
of Dudley, children of Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Sandlin of Dudley, for the
week.
Randy Sandlin of Greensboro
came home last week and spent a
couple of days with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. I.J. Sandlin. He spent the
weekend at Topsail and will be
working in Atlanta, Ga. for the
summer.
Charles Sanderson and his son,
Terry, made a business trip to
Jacksonville Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Olen Maready spent
the weekend in Norfolk, Va. with
relatives.
Lisa Hinson spent Sunday at
Topsail Beach.
Marlyn Mercer of Smithfield spent
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ottis
lere Miller. She is attending
summer session at NCSU.

Alma Quinn Jones and daughter of
CI,over, S.C. visited her sister,
Thelma Quinn Jones recently. They
celebrated her birthday at the Hilma
Mills home in Richlands. Douglas
Mills barbecued a pig and on Sunday
all the Quinn family and Alma's
children honored her with a big
birthday dinner. She returned to
South Carolina after almost a week
here.

'Michelle Rich of Kenansville has
been selected to Who's Who Among
High School Students. She attends
Harrells Christian Academy.
Since 1967, the Who's Who
selection of students has been the

the achievements of teen leaders.
Students with high academic grades

$50,000 in scholarships are awarded
to the outstanding teens.
Michelle is a member of the
