United Methodist Women Make Plans For Fall The program planning committee of Goldsboro District United Metho 1 dist Women met July 24 in Brodgen United Methodist Church. Com mittee Chairman and Vice-President Mrs. Betty Hardt served refresh ments as the group arrived. Mrs. Glenda Norton, co-ordinator of Christian Personhood, opened the meeting with devotional and prayer. The main item on the agenda was plans for the annual district meeting at Salem United Methodist Church Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2:45 p.m. Another event planned was a Do-lt-Dav. a training session for local officers which is scheduled for Jan. 5, 1985, at Fremont United Methodist Church. District President Ellis Henry Townsend asked district officers to be in touch with their groups to remind them of reports due in September. Officers were reminded that Auk. 31 was the deadline for information to be sent to U.N.I. Other dates to remember include the annual conference Oct. 5-6 at Methodist College in Fayetteville. Croom Reunion The Croom family will assemble for it's 54th annual reunion at the Croom Meeting House on Sunday, August 19. Since 1930, the Crooms have been meeting to honor the memory of their ancestors, have fellowshio and enjoy a picnic lunch together. The morning program will begin at 'u a.m. The oldest and youngest at tending and those traveling the greatest distance will be recognized. A brief business session concludes the program. The?Croom Meeting House is eight miles west of Kinston by N.C. Highway #55 at Sandy Bottom. It was built in 1823 by Lott Croom and owned by the Croom Family and it on tains its original furnishings. The Croom Family has been traced to Ireland as outlined in a book, "The Croom Family" by Mrs. Doris C. Outlaw, who will have copies available at the reunion. Norris Croom, publicity chairman, states all descendants and tnends are invited to attend. They are asked to bring a picnic or covered-dish dinner which will be spread at 12:30 p.m. Aglow To Meet Aug. 11 The Kenansville chapter of Aglow will hold their monthly meeting Aug. II at 8:45 a.m. for fellowship and 9:30 a.m. for the meeting at Brown's Restaurant in Kenansville. The speaker will be Eva Johnston of Beulaville.
