JK Shuts Out Pender; Bulldogs Blast ND Tiger Field: Coach Billy Byrd's flghting Tigers shut out Pender last Friday night 18-0 in an old rival battle. It was the second straight shut-out for James Kenan as they prepare for East Central tests start ing this week against East Duplin. Make' no bones about it, James Kenan and East Duplin have always battled each other right down to the wire. Don't think the loss to Union helps James kenan as they get ready for the trip to Beulaville. Halfback Mickey Faison rushed . for 156 yards and scored on a three-yard ran to lead the Tigers. Bruce Dixon, the Tiger workhorse, also scored and Donnie Rouse kicked a 26-yard field goal as the Tiger defense shut down Pender High and their passing attack. Roseboro: Top Raider running back Dave Wilson rushed 133 yards and scored twice to lead Midway past Lakewood 18-7 in an important East Central game. It was the second ECC win for Midway and kept them tied with Wallace-Rose Hill in the conference with a 2-0 mark. Wallace: North Duplin fell victim of the fumbles six times last Friday night in Death Valley and Jack Holley's powerful Bulldogs of Wallace-Rose Hill High blasted the Rebs 33-8 in an important ECC football game. Another ECC game ??w the shocker of the year as winless Union High dumped upstart East Duplin High 16-6 in a real heartbreaker for ED fans. South Lenoir had little trouble getting the Wildcats of Hobbton to yield 30-7 in an ACC game. Support your school.
