Parker is incoming chairman of District 47 of SEANC. This past year he served as member ship co-chairman. On July 1, the N.C. State Govern ment Employees Association and the N.C. State Employees Association merged into the largest non-union affiliated put lie employees' associa tion in the nation. In the old NCSGEA, Parker served as state membership chairman. Unit chair man and on the Department of Correction Insurance committee. Parker shared Member of the Year honors with J.E. Skinner of Ahoskie, an assistant division engineer in the Department of Transportation and immediate past president of the NCSGEA. SEANC, with 47,000 members the largest independent public employee association in the nation, lobbies for salaries and fringe benefits for state employees. It is headquartered in Raleigh. Four County EMC Re-Elects Four Directors At Meeting Four incumbant directors were re-elected to the board of Four County Electric Membership Cor poration (EMC) at the 35th annual meeting at Union High School. Those re-elected for three-year terms were: O. Homer James of Wallace; Garland P. King, Teachey; R.W. Blanchard Jr., Turkey; and Iva W. Brinson, Magnolia. They were selected to represent the following directorate districts, respectively: (East Duplin, West Duplin, East Sampson and at-large representa tive. Lewis Hobson, manager of Tar heel EMC of Raleigh, was the guest speaker. Hobson outlined the bene fits TEMA provides for its member systems. including Four County, and noted the purchase power the or ganization holds in obtaining ma terials at reduced costs to the cooperatives. Members who won door prizes included Eugene M. Balkcum of Rose Hill, grand prize winner of a portable color television. Early at tendance prize winner of a portable black and white television was Wilson Crumpler of Rose Hill, representaing Tomahawk Methodist Church.
