It was the eighth straight win or Wallace-Rose Hill and left the >awgs all alone in first place in the Last Central 2-A race. James Kenan alls to second place with a 5-1 onference mark. Coach Billy Byrd said, "We just ;ot beat by the best ball club in the conference, and maybe by the best ever in the East Central Conference. We did get banged up pretty much. Bruce Dixon may be out this week with shoulder problems, Mickey Faison may also be out with a hip injury, and Don Jonnson has a slight leg injury, and a lot more." Byrd singled out Cam Pridgen, Tim Hooks and Robert Graham as touch stickers in the Bulldog clash. Byrd says James Kenan has the edge going into the playoffs (Division 11) and could play a team in the Albemarle conference somewhere down there, around Williamston. Other East Central action saw Hubbton edge out Midway in an upset win, 35-33. East Duplin pulled the really big one, upsetting North Duplin 19-13.
