Willard Phillips was found dead on the flix>r of his mobile home by Duplin Rescue workers early Monday morning. The report came by Phillips' neighbors who checked on the man because temperatures had dropped so cold. Dr. Corbett Quinn, medical examiner, reported Phillips had frozen "stiff' to death. Dean's List David L. Sumner, Cadet Second Class, has earned the Dean's List again this semester at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo rado, David is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David W. Sumner of the Cabin community of Duplin County, and is a 1982 graduate of East Duplin High School. Kenansville Town Tags Kenansville town license places are available at the Town Hall for $2 each. According to town ordinance, each owner of a vehicle operated in the town of Kenansville must pur chase a license plate before Feb. 15. These plates do not have to be displayed on the vehicle. The penalty for failure to purchase said license plates is payment of S5 to the town tax collector as a civil penalty in lieu of criminal prose cution. The ordiannce provides for the waiver of purchase for any indi viduals serving as firemen or as members of emergency medical teams. No more than one motor vehicle owned by each member is to be exempted from the ordinance. Telephone Construction A construction project designed to expand telephone cable facilities along Secondary Road ltlOl south east of Beulaville was completed Dec. 1. 1984. The undertaking approximate cost was $36,224. It was proposed to plow approximately 12,651 feet of 100-pair cable and to place approximately 549 feet of 100-pair cable on existing pole lines. The work was necessary to relieve existing facilities and should care for the forecast feed area requirements until 1992. This area has experienced steady growth during recent years due to re grade activity and requests for new cprviee. CARD OF THANKS These words come to mind.
