Taxes Ketlect Large Investment S'reet Richardson, Carolina Tele phone's district commercial manager in Clinton, said that the company's total tax payment withing Duplin County, including all town and city taxes, is $125,608.83. County and municipal taxes paid by the company in its 50-county operating area totaled $7 million. "The taxes reflect Carolina Tele phone's extensive investment in facilities and equipment to provide telephone service to more than 615.000 customers in eastern North Carolina," said Richardson. Carolina Telephone's total tax bill . for 1984. including all state and federal taxes, is expected to come to approximately S83 million.
