Music will be furnished by "Riptide" playing out of Lake City, S.C. Bring your own steak and enjoy an evening at the club with friends. All for $20. Don and Dianne have become members at DCC since coming to the area from Newsom, Va. some months ago. Don is dean of instruction at James Sprunt. Remember, Dianne, you sh>mld award the foursome, includ ing yourself, with a steak at the famous Country Squire. Congrats ? anyway. ***** Pro Green reports a "Teen Valen tine" dance is on lap in Duplin's spacious ballroom Saturday night, Feb. 16. Teens invited should be in the eighth, ninth or tenth grades. Hostess and chaperone will be Vicky Hood. Drinks and snacks will be furnished by the club. Join your friends at the teen dance on the 16th. ***** JSTC Continuing Education Classes The department of continuing education at James Sprunt Technical College will offer the following classes at the following times and locations: Nurses Aide - Class begins Feb. 4. This 10-week class, taught by Mrs. Sheraldine Harper, will meet Monday thru Thursday nights from 6-10 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All persons planning to enroli are required to take a reading examination before enrolling. The examination will be given on Monday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in room 107 of the McGowen Building on the campus. There will be a $10 registration fee payable at the first class meeting. In addition each student is responsible for purchasing a text, uniform and shoes, which will cost approximately $75. Oil Painting - Ms. Yvonne Scott will instruct a class on painting with oil on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, beginning Feb. 6. The course will serve both beginners as well as ihe more advanced student and offers each individualized attention. Registration fee is $19 and the class will be held at the Albertson Adult F.ducation Center each Wednesday. Powder Puff Mechanics ? This 30-hour class has been designed for persons who are interested in pre ventive maintenance. Not only will vou learn to change a tire, but you will learn what makes a car run. The electrical system,lubrication system, cooling and fuel system will be covered. Practical problems and solutions that you can do yourself will be emphasized. Promises to be a high demand course and enrollment wiy be limited. The class will begin Jan. 29 and will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 7-10 p.m. at the JSTC automotive shop. Registration fee is SI5. Cake Decorating - The College will offer a 36-hour cake decorating class in room <;22 of the Hoffler Building on the campus beginning Jan. 21. The class will meet each Monday and Thursday night from 7-10 and will offer instruction in the preparation of icing for the various decorating techniques which will include writing, various flower petals, leaf structures, coratng, roping ana a variety of decorative flowers. The instructor, Mildred Whaley, will inform students of the basic deco rating kit needed and other supplies needed. There will be a $19 regis tration fee. Registration will take place at the first class meeting. Floral Design - A 36-hour class in floral design and arranging will be offered at the Wallace Recreational Department beginning Jan. 29. The class will meet on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-10. Students mav have to purchase some minor supplies. All flowers for the class will be provided. The class will be taught by Mrs. Sue Cavenaugh, who has a wide range of experience in floral arranging. Registration is $19.
