Both foursomes will move to the state finals at Myrtle Beach Labor Day weekend. ?*??? Pro Rick Green announces a Two-Man Invitational Golf Tourna ment on June 22-23. The format will be two-man, best-ball with merchandise awarded in each flight. Entry fee of $100 per team includes carls for Saturday and Sunday, practice round and other prizes. An early-bird special is also included for ? those who send entry fees prior to June 15. Those names will be entered in a drawing for a Palmer Peerless driver. Elnora Whetsell of Mount Olive was the overall winner of the tourney. ***** Lonnie Hedrick's team of Colon Quinn, Claudette Hedrick, Dottie Quinn and Mitchell Quinn won the Friday afternoon "Bassackwards" golf tournament at Duplin CC with a best ball 28. Lloyd Parker's team of Betty Potter, Norwood West and Joe Costin were in second place with a 31. ***** Warsaw's Robbie Lee, president of the Duplin County unit of the American Cancer Society, announces a benefit golf tournament is planned for Saturday, July 20 at Rockfish Country Club in Wallace. Winners of the Duplin County tournament will advance to the American Cancer Society State tournament to be held Sept. 1-2 at Bay Tree Golf Club at Myrtle Beach.
