Fall Continuing Education Classes At JSTC The Continuing Education Divi sion of James Sprunt Technical College offers courses in Adult Basic Education. GED, Occupational Ed ucation, Practical Skills, and Avoca tional areas. Classes are open to anyone 18 years of age and older. Classes meet on and off campus. Registration is held the first class meeting, (ABE students may regist er at any time) and class size is often limited. A class space may be reserved by contacting the Continu ing Education Department, James Sprunt Technical College, P.O. Box 398, Kenansville, N.C. 28349, 296 1341 prior to the first class meeting. There is no fee for persons 65 years of age and over, ABE or GED students. James Sprunt Technical College reserves the right to cancel any classes due to insifficient enroll ment. Cedar Fori Area Quilting: Two classes in heirlooir quilting will be taught in Cedar Fork. The instructors will teach quilting design, patterns, embroidery styles, applique style and hand techniques. Registration fee is $15 per person. Class I will be taught by Eva Gladys Lanier at Eva Gladys Lanier's Shop beginning Sept. 21 and ending Nov. 13, 1985, from 9-12 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Class II will be taueht bv Pauline Lanier at Pauline's Shop beginning Sept. 3, 1985 and ending Nov. 19, 1985, fron 9-12 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. each Tuesday. Chinquapin Painting: Kathleen Maready will be teaching a class in painting at the Chinquapin Adult Education Center. Both beginners and students with some experience benefit from this 36 hour course. Instruction covers basic painting techniques including color mixing, paint application, and com position and drawing problems. Stu dents provide their own materials. Class will begin on Aug. 28 and will meet each Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. Registration is $19 per person. Quilting: two classes in quilting will be held at the Chinquapin Adult i Education Center. The instructor. Nellie Maready will teach quilting design, patterns, embroidery styles, applique style and hand techniques. Registration fee is $15 per person. Class I will be held each Monday 9-12 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. beginning Aug. 26 and ending Nov. 11. Class II will be held each Wednes day from 9-12 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. beginning Aug. 28 and ending Nov. 13. W i TT uiiw ABE and High School Completion: I this class is specifically designed to help the student who reads poorly or not at all; who has difficulty with simple math; has difficulty with writing and English; or for those who wish to complete their high school education. There is no cost for this class and persons may register at the class site. This class taught by Larry Cooper will begin Aug. 27 and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. at Warsaw Jr. High School. For more informa tion on these classes or any other classes of interest please contact the Continuing Education Department at James Sprunt Technical College Wallace Reunion 4 The annual reunion of the descen dants of John Richard Wallace and Mary John Brown Wallace will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Northeast Community Building which is located on Highway 41 between Chinquapin and Wallace for the noon meal and a special time of fellowship. Each descendant is extended a special invitation to pack a picnic lunch and unite with other relatives for this occasion.
