Wildlife Officer Dies In Car Wreck A Kenansville wildlife officer who swerved to miss a deer carcass died when his car struck a tree and burst into flames in western Jones County late Wednesday night. He was 32. William Arthur Williamson of Route 1, Kenansville, was answering a call for help from another state wildlife officer at about 11:10 p.m. when he swerved to miss the carcass and lost control of the patrol car, the State Highway Patrol said. The car veered across the road, jumped an embankment, struck the tree and burst into flames, according to a report by Trooper C.T. Herring of the patrol office in Kinston. The wreck occurred on N.C. 41 about 15 miles west of Trenton. Williams was stationed in Kenansville. He had been tempo rarily assigned to Jones County. WUdllfe Officer William Arthur Williamson Three Die As Car Collides With Truck Three people died in a collision between a car and a pickup truck about four miles east of Warsaw Thursday afternoon. Kathy McLamb, 26. of 121 First St.. Erwin, died after the truck she was driving collided with a car at secondary roads 1300 and 1301, said Trooper R.N. Johnson of the N.C. State Highway Patrol. The driver of the car, Evelyn Williams Moore, 36, of 101 Mat thews St., and a passenger, Brenda Henry, 36, both of Warsaw, were also killed in the accident, Johnson reported. Mrs. McLamb's husband, James Douglas McLamb, was a nasseneer in the truck and was injured. He was taken to Duplin General Hospital where he was treated and released. According to Johnson's report, the accident happened at about p.m. when the car ran a stop sign and the truck struck the right side of the car.
