Linen Thousands of Years Old.
One of the "finds" made in Thebes,
In Egypt, by the expedition, of the
Metropolitan , museum, was a body
which had been buried with, appar;
ently, all" the household linen. There
were about forty beautiful linen
sheets, says M. Walter Hanser, one of
the members of the expedition, very
big and 'all fringed. The linen had
turned to a lovely shade of golden
brown and was in perfect condition.
Some of the sheets showed signs of
having been carefully, mended.
Sea Otter Practically Extinct
California, In 1913, passed' a law pro
hibiting the taking or possession of
sea otter skins, but there is' a fear
that this protection may have come
too late, for except for the two re
ported to have been seen off Monterey
a few years ago, the otter visits those
coasts no more. The Spanish gov
ernor at San Jose, believing that the
Indians, were becoming too wealthy
from hunting the otter, Issued a sim
ilar edict In his day.
T Prevent Writer's Cramp.

Ule of the Word "Migration."
Thejvord migration is used in two
senses" either to refer to those period
ical! changes of location such as are
niade by many species of birds and
fishes, by some mammals and by a
few insects, or to those irregular dis
persions caused by overcrowding and
lack of food or water.

v Bringing Hubby Home.
When motor cars also are run by
nni:o rays from afar, the tired business
who has phi.:..ed a little relax
ing Joy ride may be astonished to find
himself being propelled rapidly home
by the super-waves directed by his
jr:ardian better half. Chicago News.
Mazatecs Noted for Silk Raising,
The Mazatec Indians of Mexico
are noted for their agricultural pur

in connection with the tending of 'the
