Be It Ordained By the Board
of Commissioners of the Town
of Columbus, North Carolina;
.Sec- 1. That negotiable cou
pon bonds of the said Town
shall be issued in the maximum
principal amount of $16,000, to
be known as Water Bonds, for
the purpose of improving and
extending the water system of
said town.
Sec. 2. That a tax sufficient
to pay principal of said bonds
and interest thereon shall be
annually levied and collected.
Sec. 3. That a statement of
indebtedness of said town has
been filed with the clerk pur
suant to the Municipal Finance
Act and is open to - public in
spection. if H .. i;L "
Sec. 4. That this ordinance
shall take effect thirty days
after its first, publication un
less in the meantime a petition
for its submission to the voters
is filled under the Municipal
Finance Act and in that event
it shall take effect when ap
proved by the voters of said
town at an election to be held
as provided in said Act.
The foregoing ordinance was
passed on the seventh day of
April 1924, and was first pub
lished on the seventeenth d$y
of April 1924. Any action on
proceeding questioning the va
lidity of said ordinance must
be commenced within thirty
days after its first publication.
