F. LITTLE | 11 NOTARY PUBLIC | J | Tryon, N. G. . .1 J . The song "The* Yankg Are . Comb ing was sung with a neipr meaning in Detroit the other day. In the Cana dian providence of Ontario, just a cross the river, a law had become ef fective permitting -the legal sal? of 4.4 perdent beer. Over the border by boat and bridge, into the land of real beer, flowed the thousands of gay seekers after the gurgle of beer pumps and the brown liquid with the foam on top. Barly in the morning of the first day the new law was in effect, several hundred Detroiters hired a boat and a band for the cel ebration. As they left 'be American shore the band struck up the martial tune "Over There." On approaching I the land of freshly painted "Real Beer" signs, the music changed to "The Yanks are Coming." As the boat was being docked the parched throats joined in one ? big chorus "How Dry I Am." The tune they sung just as they landed was "I Won't Be Home Until Morning." Gilbert C.
