The County Home.—We visited the County Home and found two (2) males, two (2) ^females, and two (2) children, who say they are well cared for. We found a plenty of ba con, some corn, about 150 young chickens, 20 hens> 34 head of hogs of various ages and sizes which are all in good condition. The farm and farm ing implements are in good condition. They have a good garden and there were plenty of vegetables in the garden, good corn and potatoes. 2. The Stockade.—We found the Stockade in good sanitary condition and up-to-date in ev ery respect. "3. The Jail.—We found the Jail in good condition and the prisoners were well fed. ' “4. The County Court House, -—we visited all the offices in .the Court House and found .them well kept and in good con dition. “We found twenty-three (23) ftrue bills, an one (1) untrue hill. Maximum charges allowed are: Auction fees, 15 cents per 100 pounds and 25 cents for each additional pile of 100 pounds; weighin' fees, 10 cents per 100 pounds; commissions, 2 1-2 per cent of gross sales. Terming these fees confisca tory, warehousemen are asking injunctions against State, coun ty and State court officials to prevent enforcement of the law. The yearly meeting of the Rock Fish Fox Club attracts many dog fanciers and breed ers, and affords an excellent opportunity for exchanging pointers on the breeding and care of dogs as well as a chance for owners to exhibit their fox hounds, many of which are prize winners. The Fox Club is one of the most unusual organizations of its kind. Never has it been ac cused of being political, or of harboring any religeous ani mosity. PROMINENT LOCAL MAN PASSES AWAY (Continued from Page One) here 28 years ago when the town was little more than a country cross roads, he had taken an active interest in the business life of the town and at the time of his death, was ' one of its biggest boosters. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a past Master, of the local lodge having serv-; ed as treasurer for the past 18 ( years. As a faithful member of the Methodist Church he had served on its Board of Ste wards and as treasurer for sev eral years. He had also serv ed as vice-president of one of the local banks and was also an official at one time of the Dup lin Building and Loan Associ ation. The large concourse of rel atives and friends which ga thered yesterday to pay their last respects, together with the many beautiful floral offerings, attested in part to the esteem which he was held throughout this section. Parker, five miles west of Magnolia in the Concord community, will be the scene of the second annual reunion of the descendents and relatives of Zeffie Parker on Sunday, August 11.
