B.Carter and Miss Dorothy Kennedy motored to Hopewell, Va. and spent last week-end with Miss Kennedy’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy. While there they vi sited Richmond, Petersburg, Emporia and other points of in terest. Mrs. John Ed Boney and Mr. Willis Boney, who visited in Hopewell, Va., last week, re turned to Wallace with them. Miss Dorothy Wells of Ken ansville and Glenn Rollings of Warsaw were Sunday guests of Miss Wells’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Wells. Mrs. M. Liberman and Mrs. H. Kramer visited friends in Kenansville Sunday. Miss Martha Jane Hanchey has returned from Raleigh where she spent some time with her brother, Ransom Hanchey. Mr. and Mrs. Marcellus Pope, Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Hes ter and Dave Campbell spent Sunday at Carolina Beach. Capt. A. S. J. Williams of Richmond, Va. is visiting rela tives near Wallace. Harry Kramer, Ike Margolis and Hyman Kramer spent Sun day in Jacksonville. Mr. and Mrs. M. Hurwitz of Clinton were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hurwitz. Mrs. D. B. Townsend and sons, Francis and Thomas have returned from a visit to rela tives in Ellerbe. Mrs. W. B. Knowles has re turned from a visit to relatives in Smithfield. She was accom panied h°me by her sister, Miss Etta Wellons, who will be her guest for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Britt and daughters, Grace and Helen, spent Saturday in Wilmington. Miss Virginia Campbell of Raleigh spent the past week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Campbell. D. Campbell spent Wednesday in Raleigh with Mrs. Rufus Hunter. Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Quinn of Greenville, S. C., were guests of Mrs. Quinn’s sister, Mrs. G. L. Brown one day this week. Sam Bloom of Washington, D. C. spent the past week here. He was accompanied back by Mrs. B'oom and son, Billy, who will make their home in Wash ington. Mss Betty Sherrill returned to her home in Charlotte Fri-| day after spending the past two weeks with Miss Elizabeth Ward. Mr. Lamb had the misfortune of breaking a hip and friends re gret to hear that he is not re cuperating very well. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Stedman Carr with Mrs. Ralph Carlton joint hostess. “Central America” was the subject of a paper read by Mrs. Alexander Southerland. Mrs. J. 0.
