Market Boosters WiD Visit Duplin Whiteville Motorcade Will Cover Six Counties Next- Wednesday WHITEVILLE, July 17.—The boosters of the Whiteville to bacco market will tour the fol lowing counties on a motorcade on July 28th: Robeson, Bladen, Cumberland, Harnett, Sampson, Duplin. About 25 cars with over one hundred representative citi zens, headed by a beautiful, sound equipped sedan, “The Voice of Whiteville”, will leave Whiteville at 8:30 Wednesday morning headed for Evergreen, Proctorville, St. Paul, Hope Mills, Fayetteville, Made, Godwin, Lil lington, Erwin, Coats, Dunn, Garland, and Elizabethtown. Short stops will me made at all of these places and intervening communities. This is a more of a get-acquainted motorcade to let farmers know that the entire citizenship of Whiteville is vit ally interested in the develop ment of their town, and of the great activity about the ware houses as they are preparing for the greatest season in the history of the Whiteville tobac co market. Whiteville has six big warehouses and three sets of buyers and there is a likeli hood of a fourth set being here, due to the enormous crop of tobacco in this section. A boosters rally was held at the New Columbus Theatre on Tuesday, August 13th, and was the occasion of several en thusiastic speeches and the de termination of everyone present I to sell Whiteville’s big tobacco market to the world. The oper ators of all warehouses are in town and several of them who live in the Old Belt say that the crop in this area is not only better than it is in the old belt but the best they have ever seen in this section.
