Mr. Pratt is head of the piano department at Mere dith college. Ann Mills Receives Degree at Salem Miss Ann Mills, daughter of Mr. andn Mrs. M. T. Mills, of 270R Evans Street, graduated from Sa lem College, Winston-Salem, on Monday. Gordon Gray, publisher of the Winston-Salem Journal and Senti nel and Assistant Secretary of Army was the principal speaker at the commencement program which was held in Memorial Hall. Miss Mills received an A. B. de gree in education and psychology. A graduate of Morehead City High School, Miss Mills entered Salem College in 1944. This year she was representative to student legislature, a member of the Pier rette Players, on the entertainment committee for May Day, and was placed on the Dean's List. Hessee entertained members of the Floating Bridge club with a dessert bridge party at hct home on Arendell street Tues day afternoon at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Blanche Helms was a guest for the afternoon. Upon arrival of the guests Mrs. Hessee served delicious homemade pineapple cake with ice cream. High score prize, bridge cards, was won by Mrs. Julius Nelson, and second high went to Mrs. Percy Deyo. Mrs. Helms was the recipient of a box of dusting pow der for the guest prize and Mrs. Joe Smith won the deuce prize. Miss Sherald to Conduct Services at St. Mary's Miss A. Sherald, New York Evangelist, will conducted services at St. Mary's Holiness Church, 10th Street, beginning Sunday, June 6, at 3 p.m. This evangelist was formerly pastor of a Pentecostal Holiness church in Brooklyn, N. Y. and left this charge to undertake evange listic work which has taken her throughout the Eastern United States. Sunday will be the first of six meetings on each of the following days that she will conduct in Car teret County. All except Sunday meetings will be held at 8 p.m. Elder W. C.
