It was black. Confusion Played The Lead Tuesday Crowded Conditions Exist In Schools Throughout County The confusion that reigned with the opening of school Tuesday had quieted somewhat by Wednesday. One word best describes the con dition that exists in most of the schools in the county: crowded. Beaufort received an extra in flux of pupils from Bettie, and several from other downeast com munities while other schools re ceived pupils that ordinarily would have attended White Oak school. Primary grades, especially, are crowded, with some teachers hav ing more than 40 pupils. Members of the Beaufort and Morehead City school faculties ap pear below.
