from his work in New Jersey due
to illness and is confined to his
bed at his home, 110 Marsh Street,
for an indefinite length of time.
Young People Conduct
Services at St. Paul's
Youth Sunday was observed last
Sunday, Oct. 17, in St. Paul's Epis
copal churuch, led the Young
People's Service league.
The day began with corporate
communion at 7:31) a.m., after
which counselors served breakfast
to the 23 boys and girls who at
tended. The 11 o'clock worship service
was conducted by senior members
of the league who were highly
complimented afterwards on the
way they handled the service.
At 4 in the afternoon young peo
ple met on the Parish house
grounds for basketball, volleyball,
and ping pong.
At 6:15 members of the Worn-'
an's auxiliary served ,i spanhctli
supper to 4(i boys and Rii ls a ul
their counselors. The day ended
with the regular YI'Sl. meeting
at 7:30.
Miss Amy Muse Entertains
Bridge Club Thursday
Miss Amy Muse entertained her
bridge club at her home on Live
Oak Street, Thursday evening at
8 o'clock.
Mrs. Jack Windley was a guest
for the evening.
Bridge was plaved at three
tables with Mrs. G. W. Duncan
winning high score 4rize.
The hostess served mince pie

Bride of George Paul Redman
The marriage of Miss Vida Lee
Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Alton Mason of Harkers Island,
and George Paul Redman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Redman, ol
Eden, Michigan, was solemnized at
the Eden United Brethen church
on Friday evening, October 8. The
Keverend Henry uaaicoat, pastor
of the Mason Methodist Church,
officiated at the candlelight ser
vice, using the double ring cere
mony. Palms and baskets oi
flowers decorated the altar for the
rites.
Mrs. Ford Chapman, of Leslie,
accompanied by her daughter, Sal
ly Chapman at the niano, sang
"Until" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Traditional weddidng music was
played by Mrs. Francis Larson of
Ionia.
The bride wn. attired in a gown
of white chiffon over tafeta, styled
with a round neckline, shirred bo
dice and a full skirt. Tiny satin
bows trimmed the front of the
bodice and skirt. She wore e
single strand of pearls and long
white mitts. Her fingertip veil,
edged with lace, was held in place
by a tiara of seed pearls. She
carried a cascade bouquet of white
roses, gladioli and baby mums.
Her maid of honor, Jovce Lar
son of Ionia, was gowned in ice
blue satin, fashioned with round
neckline, fitted bodice and full
skirt with hustle effect. She wore
a matching headdress and carried
a bouquet of bninze mums and
rosebuds. Mary Redman, sister of
the bridegroom, acted as flowei
girl. She wore a nale blue floor
length taffeta gown and carried
a basket of rose petals.
For her son's wedding, Mrs. Red
man chose a blue crepe dress with
a corsage of gardenias and red
rosebuds.
The bride's parents were unable
to attend, but they telephoned the
couple preceding the ceremony.
Following the rites, the newly
weds greeted their guests at the
home of the bridegroom's parents.
Bouquets of mixed flowers decora
ted the Redman home. A three
tiered wedding cake, ice cream,
punch and col tee were served by
cousins of the bridegroom.
After a trip to northern Michi
gan, Mr. anil Mrs. Redman will re
side temporarily with the bride
groom's parents.

Given for Richard Leigh
Richard Leigh, seven year old
son of Mrs. Elizabeth Leighl, was
given a surprise birthday party at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Paul, Saturuday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock.

and enjoyed an afternoon of
